haha probably more.
Anyway, peet is a pretty cool guy, I dont see why he should be permabanned.
It would have been more entertaining if he had gleaned your facebook password from the forum hack he did and proceeded with a subtle yet oh so delightful trolling of your social network (supported with pix of course), but we can't have everything.

I like playing Spring but it isn't worth this level of nuclear drama. I don't want arguments on the internet to get personal and escalate to this level. If there really is account theft or similar issues involved, we should all just take a step back and ask ourselves what the hell we're doing. This is some open source project on the internet that's been run out of some dude's basement for years. It isn't that serious, and if it has become that serious we should just shut it down and go home.

Am I the one derailing when you stick comments saying I support Peet's actions in your posts and I correct you? Oh. I didn't realize. Sorry.

The validity of peets actions and supporting or not supporting him wasn't the intention of this thread, we have a whole other thread with all that in already.

Then don't stick comments about it in your posts in this thread.
Now, back on track, hmm.
We really do need a better way of downloading content packs. Scripting the downloads sounds like it could conflict easily, but a simple gui with descriptions and instant downloads would go a long way.

regardless of the right or wrong of the actions of someone haxxing your forum and giving away the information, it really has no bearing on the spring site itself; moderators here have no power on your site, and you have no moderator powers here... the apples to pears analogy; i think the mods here would be overstepping their bounds by banning someone for something they did which was technically outside of the bounds of the community.
its like if you lived next to your teacher, and tried to get your teacher to give the mailman detention for walking on your lawn and looking in the window to see you building your christmas nativity scene (and then destroying said nativity scene, and none of the orphan children get christmas that year at all as a consequence)
tbh, im not really sure what your project was all about... something like steam, but for open source RTS games?
either way, like anything in life, if you get pushed down, you have two options... to sit in the dirt and cry like a baby, or to pull yourself up like a man and punch whoever it was in the stomach.
like i said, i don't really know what you were offering us, but you seem pretty hyped on the idea; i can see why you'd be pissed off, but quite frankly i can't understand the motivation of wanting to quit (or at least sever ties with spring entirely)
and if you had something to offer me specifically as a spring user, then now i'm a bit pissed off that you're not going to do it anymore

dont be a dick! im a nice guy, keep working on this project that will hook me up! take a page from the book of TASclient and hardcode it to crash whenever peet tries it

lol is it really hardcoded to do that?
Anyways I can safely say peet has done enough to warrant a permaban several times over long before he hacked my forum, and most of us have first hand experience with those events in some shape or form.

He has? Combined forum and lobby ban? Uhh, can you be more specific?

it *was* hardcoded to do that with someone else
but can you agree, even just a little bit, that maybe cutting ties to this facet of your project is an overreaction to some degree? there are a ton of people who are completely outside of this particular pocket of drama who could benefit from your work (like myself)
i can only assume that you do the work in the first place because you enjoy it; don't let a fly in the ointment spoil your fun.

The last time I tried to detail even a small portion of what he has done ti was utterly dismissed.
Now since you lurker where personally present at a lot of these, what good would it be to list these things? Especially when you yourself where active in the lobby when peet was posting links to ixus.zip

Which is forum or lobby misbehavior how? Or are you saying he should be banned for 'dickery'

As I said, we both know he's done things on the forums and lobby server which have in the past earned other people bans.
You however have a vested interest in rubbishing it though as you were present or involved in half of it. I've no intention though of starting a lengthy discussion about things that have happened over the course of several years as it requires effort for which I gain nothing but more tarnish.

to me it seems that this is just a result of Spring, still, having shit moderation policy or moderators.
I'm not really sure which cause we don't get a glimpse of moderation discussions.

this exceeds the realm of spring forum moderator control. What happens on other forums does not have an effect on the spring forum.

Im not specifically referring to this case,i mean in general since all this bad blood has been building up for some time, fueled by forum drama.
