I dl:ed the game just to test it singleplayerwize, (and maybe hax some hamatchi into it) and it would problably work if it wasn't that my version was "powered by CS.RU"
I guess the game is worth buying though, its a nice game if you play it on lan and/or with friends.
And ya, VS mode is quite nice ^^

ZOMBIES ARE COMING EVERYONE GET IN TO A CORNER AND RIGHT CLICK!!#!%!#!!!
but seriously, its a pretty fun game. Vs mode is by far the most fun after you blow through the single player campaign, but it has some problems that seriously piss me off.
they seriously couldn't be bothered to balance the map to have the same shit every time? it's so god damn irritating to have 252362 NPC zombies spawn for the enemy team and then have none yourself, or other retard shit like enemy team gets t2 guns at the start of the level and you never get them, or THE WORST is, enemy team gets a tank and you don't
so yea the vs mode points are completely arbitrary, but still a laugh. its much more fun to play as the infected than as humans.

I hate to tell you, but the tank thing has been fixed (Tanks always spawn at roughly the same points for both teams), t2 weapons ALWAYS spawn in the same place (They sometimes spawn off-the track, esp if you go forward on the NM3 level instead of left and check the garage on the end.
The only bastard point of L4D is:
Team A can find 10+ molotovs and use them to take out a tank in 30-45 seconds.
Team B finds no mollies and dies thanks to t1 weapons.
Team A finds 10+ medpacks, turning into 'Left 10 Medpacks'
Team B finds 3+ medpacks.
Ai director needs atleast a slight tuning so we don't get that level of bullshit.

I'm undecided on the random element. If both teams get exactly the same stuff at the same times and places, it gives the team playing survivors second a big advantage - they don't need to look for t2 weapons, cos they know where they are, and the witch and tank are easier to defeat if you know they're coming before they even spawn... I think the problem is that the game is very competetive, but its very difficult to score fairly, while still including the random element that makes it so fun...

Not really, the team going zombies first get to scout out weapon positions, but don't get to know where the witch or tank spawn until they've spawned, giving the second zombie team an advantage as they can plan precisely when all the other infected attack as to maximise the damage caused by a tank (Boomer juices them as the tank approaches, smoke tongues so the tank can hit, hunter does whatever to cause damage) or if the witch is in the survivors path and can't be dodged, infected can smokerdrag or hunterknock.
Whereas without that tank spawn heads up, special infected tend to just boomer/smoker/hunter and pop, leaving the tank to do all the work.

I have Left 4 Dead on Xbox 360 and on PC, and as far as the gameplay goes, it brilliant for the first few days then it gets boring.
The only strong point is that downloadable content keeps the game fresh, and the best part is that its free on the PC
On xbox 360 on the other hand, your stuck with 3 campaigns, and any of the downloadable content that will come out are Valve only maps that you have to pay for.
whether your playing with pro's or noobs, its the same story, if you have no voice communication, this game fails hard.
As a rule on xbox 360, anyone without a mic is instantly kicked.
The concept of this game, much like spore, was far better than its execution.
TL;DR User content keeps Left 4 Dead alive, although said that i havent played it for a while, due to the massive amounts of suck.
Edit: did i mention the massive amounts of glitches on that game?
