I have considered using lua gai to script some starcraft style hold the base type missions but they would have to be loaded through the spring single player executable and that thing is too cumbersome to point a noob to
I already have some mission stuff cooking, and it doesn't need that, and all lobby clients will support it. The only thing I cannot do is a structured, traditional campaign, because that's going to need a loading tool that's somewhat like SpringSP, like I explained before, before that's possible. But I'm even going to support doing missions coop, like Halo :-)

It's great for multiplayer but it's completely lacking for launching singleplayer missions.
For singleplayer you have SpringSP. I'm not even sure you can (easily) start a game with TASClient if you don't have internet, or a restricting firewall whose options you can't change.

For instance if I doesn't open the right ports on my router, when playing via TASClient, even against bots, the game starts lagging very badly after 15 min or so...

argh, I know about your tool but that doesn't mean I cannot sit down and program the mission myself.

Well, if you think it that way, TA wasnt really TA either, it was as well moddable as spring...

So wtf is the problem?

Just play and stop whining if people doesnt play other mods.

You cant force people like that.

Exactly. When I first played TA, I found it ugly, boring, units hard to discern from each other, commands extremely limited, commander and units just didn't feel right and were hard to control...
So I didn't play it much and went back asap to starcraft and max(1).

BTW, I tried TA again recently and had the same feeling.

Then I discovered Spring :-)

Yes really. BA is just 1 small mod among at least 10 wonderfully designed mods for spring. Thank you for reading my post. If someone says "OMFG No one will join" copy this entire post and spam it in #main, until people join. CAUpdater is a good place to start downloading mods. Join channels like #EE, #NOTA, #CA, #XTA, and others.
You cant change people by talking, you need to create mod which people likes, people likes BA, you cant change people, just forget it.

Lol there is a large disconnect between the purpose and content and results of this thread. I am working on a mod like this btw. Its just not very... far... progressed... because i have not learned to use blender....

Actually, the purpose of this thread was originally to say that spring is not ta, since there has been confusion in the forums lately. I guess the T in TA is close to S in Spring in the Roman alphabet, and misspellings are common on forums. However, it turned into a meaningless rant. BTW BA is a good mod. Its just not the only good mod and ca is better.
