draco do you really have any idea as to what you are talking about?? as in are you a programmer of any sorts??
i just ask this cause you seem intent on telling everyone how things should be done even though to many of us it seems like you have no clue as to what you are talking about.

I think he can be safely ignored by people who know what they're doing.

I'm pretty sure this is a spring needs advertising thread, not a bash draco thread. For the sake of peet, I'M NOT TELLING YOU WHAT TO DO, I AM MAKING SUGGESTIONS, IF YOU CAN'T TAKE COMMENTS, MAKE A GAME THAT DOESN'T HAVE ISSUES THAT PEOPLE NOTICE. The scripting format is not free, who owns bos/cob, Cavedog/Atari. 3do, same. desync, stfu, no such thing, if there is, it's you or the host, I have the average connection on both my pcs and have never had desync, excluding seeing others have issues, AKA Crappage. Not to bash anyone but, if your internet or pc aren't around average, you shouldn't be playing online games in the first place. As most people know, I run a 3.3ghz celero, 512mb ram, and a 256mb ati card, on my E-machine. My alternate pc, is a dell xps 3 ghz pentium with hyperthreading, 1 gb ram, and a 256 nvidia card, 5600? Both have never had any issues, the e-machine is on a 4000kb/s down, 768 up cable, and the dell is on around 900kb/s down 3000kb/s up dsl. I don't have lag, never desynced. The host either lags and someone desyncs, or a client starts to lag and desyncs, why burden an already crappy computer with more code to run to resync, when they very well could've lost when it resyncs, unless you want to run a crappy warcraft III resync program that stops the game, which to my knowledge people don't like. Next time you want to talk about me, wait till I'm actually in the forums or game again, grow up newbs.
EDIT: j5mello: Do you have any clue what you are talking about? Cause hell if I do, I'm just trying to help.

DAMN U IE AND NOT REMEBERING WHAT I TYPE HERE WHEN GOING FORWARD TO AND BACK FROM A NEW PAGE REAL QUICK....
sry bout that...
What I wanted to say is that you'r suggesting that a new language be developed or that a current one (namely LUA) be used in its place. Coming up with a new language isn't exactly a 1,2,3 thing which im sure few if any devs would want to work on. Nor is LUA in any shape to be taking over as a main scripting language, especially since trepan himself said that BOS/COB is the car engine while LUA is the Supercharger... they are complimentary not exchangable.
You also seem to think that since desyncs don't happen to you that a possible solution is either incorrect or should be shelved until the devs "figure out whats wrong". While it may not happen to you it is a real problem and a solution, any solution, is better than none at all.
And finally, I'm sure the people who have crappy computers appreciate your message to STFU and GTFO with regards to online gaming. I really hope that when your comp is finally the crappy one, someone tells you that and then we'll see if you take it well.

To be honest, neither of his computers are very good at this point, Mello.
Moderators, please close this thread. They can fence elsewhere.

We're hoping to offer a preview beta, with some (but not all) of the gameplay for testing "fairly soon". Maybe a month. Hopefully the major bugs in 75b2 will be resolved at this point.
thanks

j5mello, thank you for setting it straight, sorry that I got worked up, just sick of it being hard to explain stuff. And yes, locking this thread would be quite appropriate.
