I wish I could play System Shock 2, but in the last 5 years I've tried about a dozen different computer configurations and never been able to get it to run no matter what.

I think I'm going to have to build up some ancient 500 mhz machine or something, for the old stuff I've missed out on, and ripping IG sound effects.

Fixes it to run under winXP :) - for a really good Game you can go far...

Well... I'm willing to give it a try. If it's playable, I hope it also fixes the hyper-fast-zombie-spawning bug fast computers have.

How come I'm like the ONLY person I know who can run SS2? It doesn't work on any of my friends computers...except for mine.

Odd, huh?

And thanks, Piccasso, but I already have the re-birth mod AND the high texture mod. Muhahahaha! I'm almost done beating the game on Impossible...WITHOUT DYING!

No, I'm just kidding. I've died a lot. But I have also saved a lot more then I've died. The trick is high agility + high strength + getting really good at hiding till they get close then smashing them with the wrench.

To quote a fine young man, "Heeeeeeeeeeeere's SALLY!" <Whack whack whack>

2 Speed Implants
+ Speed Nanoupdate

+Some of those strange Annlid Heaps..

This is the only Game you can run that fast, that you loose controll over your Body and hurt yourself when you crash into a Door or Monster...

Monkeyzs with overclocked Brains - but the Midwifes are the biggest horror...

Please, DON'T bring up the Midwifes. Those things are a nightmare and a half.

SS2 is a great game, but tbh is crap in co-op, it loses all the atmosphere - the loss of bladder control - that makes it great, it's just not scary in co-op

Woot, we need a game where you can literally lose bladder control and give away your position to enemies based on your scent.

It's not scary in Co-op, true. It's fun though. Cuase if they game was just scary, I wouldn't play it. And, sometimes, I almost can't play it thanks to the scary. But then the addictive game play sneaks in and I go quietly mad...and not so quietly when I open a door and a Midwife is right on the other side.
