blender doesnt show polys (or maybe? i dunno), it got 3k faces and vertices

and according background, same, i dunno how :D also, with more lamps it looks even worse :/

-----

ok, i made it for lulz and dont need it anymore, maybe someone will bother to make it more simple, decrease poly (got many useless probably). feel free to use http://terminus.pl/~seba/chickenmech.obj
(seems to have all faces :D dont start modeling with 'circle' option!)

In object mode, at the top of the window, it will have a poly readout in Ve(vertices), Fa(faces), and Obj. If you're in edit mode, the numbers before the dash are the vertices and faces you have selected, the numbers after the dash are the fully poly count of the object that you're currently editing.

To change the background color, click the world buttons, and there will be a color box called "sky color" or similar. AO should be under the same tab(I'm using 2.5 and some things are different from 2.49, I'm working of memory here. >_>), enable it and leave it on "raytrace", and put the samples at 5 or 6. Wuala, good looking renders. :>

Oh, and multi-directional lighting with sharp shadows on all lamps will always look bad, if you want good looking multidirectional lighting you need to learn the basics of three point lighting. A key light, facing your model from either the right or the left at about a 45 degree angle - under normal circumstances this will be the only one casting shadows, and in order to look good they need to be soft shadows. Then a fill light, which will be on the opposite side of the model facing at about 45 degrees, at about half the intensity. Then a third light, behind your model facing towards the camera, from the opposite side as your main light, to give rim lighting.

Image

Obviously a three point light setup is overkill for showing a simple model, but I thought I'd just mention it since you were talking about bad looking multidirectional lighting. :p

Spend more polies, bob. I love it, make the lower part a little bit rounder, I want to see it chasing around Sim-Civilians and doing WarCrim.

another for the same game. going to add goblins on it, maybe if they are clumsy they blow themselves up...

and that crap on top of the monsters head is supposed to be hair (above the eye balls). I am thinking maybe ill make it more boxy and add transparency instead. would that work better?

I like them alot, Vulcan.
You could add a little more detail to the samson, and the treads on the flash and stumpy.
