The varients only take up 200k.

Each variant is less than 100 kilobytes.

It's not the size that concerns me, it's the fact that the minority group (that plays the F variant) and the larger group will rarely play each others variant, which must be a real pain in the arse for people who like the F variant, and probably doesn't help the S variant either. Plus, anyone who tries AA -S will probably also want to try the -F variant, and waste a lot of time waiting for players to join, most likely only to find out that he or she likes the -S variant better.

I know my arguments don't seem very solid, but that's just because i'm having trouble wording what i'm trying to say. :| You know what I mean, i'm just trying to say any split in the community, however small, is bad. Plus, how is someone new to AA meant to know what the variants all are?

As for, nobody plays F, that's becouse in 1.31 it chashed. So we were forced on S or B.
As for 1.33, F crashed on a missing cob file, back to S.
(don't know about 1.32, but that version sync overall)
I like F, as the old AA. (won't weep if it was removed though)

I have noticed the same, but i figured out they are not supposed to shoot at land units. That's just one hlellofa expensive anti-air tower that does virtually nothing more then a defender.

Now it crashed again, and this time i uploaded the spring.dmp file so you can look from there what happened. I really hope you could soon figure out what's wrong with it - for now we must use 1.31

Eh? The screamer is anti-air only. It is quite good for pecking away at enemy air patrols.

the range on the scramer is nuzt, but i've never used it in a game.

I have yet to complete a 1.33 game without a crash i've uploaded the dumps to the taspring email each time.

I have a question about the cloaking. Lets say i have a crawling bomb cloaked. How do I know what can see it and what can't is it distance based? If so is the distance the same as it's attack distance?

The only one I know is that the view distance of units and defences (except radar) is just below the max attacking range.

hold SHIFT and point the mouse over the unit. The RED circle is the attack range. The BLUE circle is the cloak range. If any unit goes into the circle when the unit is cloaked, the cloak is negated and the unit is 100% visable again.

Screamers are best used lightly sprinkled throughout your base after putting in your primary anti-air lines, if properly done they will mostly stagger their shots as enemy craft get in range, minimizing wasted shots. In this way they soften up incoming air waves rather nicely, even putting big pits in the armor of those gunships.

Wow, very bad sync errors for 1.33

Other people are getting crashes as well. All I've gotten is the sync errors

Man I wanna play it too. THe changes are very cool.

BTW F varient rocks, just no one seems to want to play it

give it time, the pendulum will swing back to F eventually

I'm going to go back to 1.31 and re-do all the changes from there. I must've made a mistake somewhere along the line. I have yet to see even a single sync error though, and I played (that is to say, lost) an hour-long game a couple nights ago.... thought I was home-free.

Agreed, but leave barebones, it's a good idea.
How about making two packages available for download - "Basic" and "Full"? The "Basic" one would only have the -S variant (the only one that a lot of us play. The "Full" would have all variants.

Now that the file size is 9MB I suppose it doesn't matter... but if it creeps back up to 17MB, an option to only download -S would be nice.
Did you even read what the barebones variant was? It's basicly default TA with AA rules. No super units or unessicary features.
