hi guys, another question if this is the right place, for animated units like Kbots, commanders and constructors I need more than one object, but Uspring only allows me to select one UV map.
I just put all the UV maps in unittextures or do I need to modify some script?
you need to temporarily combine all your separate pieces before uvmapping your model. once everything is uvmapped, separate them (and combine back parts that don't move if needed) and go from there.

The problem is 100x units running around in a limited space and encountering one another here and there. It is a CPU limited simulation.

He's not using wings maackey :)
Spring only supports one uvmap per unit at the moment. You can do so hacks, but it's not worth it.

Wartender, i cheat: I exported the UV maps as paths into adobe fireworks. Then i can use fireworks to set what each face should look like.

has anyone ever made a benchmarker sort of thing for spring? you know, a preset mod sort of thing that loads up and spams units and effects and sees how well your system handles it?
i remember argh had some little demo things a while back, but i dunno about this specifically. might help some of us noobs with our poly budgeting

Harr harr! commander!
tried to use every part in the same names as original commander (hierarchy exactly the same too) but then it will look messed up when it moves, it does stand still perfect, but I cannot animate

The origins, the points which pieces rotate around, will have to be set the same or as close as you can.

It's true that Gimp interface is confusing. But Photoshop costs money. I've heard it advised to use
Paint .NET. It may not be as powerful to Photoshop or Gimp, but as a beginner, it's not like you'll miss those super advanced features.

Paint Shop Pro is an true alternative to Photoshop. It is nearly as powerful but costs far less. I got a new copy of PSP XI for 10 Ôé¼. Moreover I find it easy to use
