Hi.
Thanks for comments, I'm glad you appreciate it ;)

No update yet, just answering some comments :)
I'll probably finish the textures tomorrow, and I'll release the files tomorrow too, and if not, after tomorrow.

Hoi > maybe you'r talking about the ultra-sharpened texture ? I'll like my textures that way. If not, show me on the screens what you'r talking about because I don't have any idea ^^

very_bad_soldier > I've many projects actually and little time for spring now. Truly I don't want to make false hope. Surely I'll do some other units later, for fun, but be sure that I will not restart my project of redesign whole TA units again ;p

WZ > I'm sorry, I'm too busy at the moment but thanks for the proposition ;)

I'm going bed
gn !

Brilliant cremuss! Definitely going into CA if we can get our greedy little mits on it, factories are what we desperately need right now! Shame you cant see the unit when its being built though.

Your website is down though, and that means we cant download all your old models. I lost the ship models i was working on in a computer crash, including the .psd file for the AA ship. If you could upload them again (especially the texture, so we can try and adapt it for the other ship models) that would be totally fabulous!

You're verymuch missed over in CA, your work is top quality. Thanks for thinking of spring when you made this model.

If you could point anyone else making 3d models our direction in the broader modeller community, too, that would be great too (And not just sci-fi stuff anymore either, we've several fantasy projects for spring now).

Pretty much. Besides, Fantasy is a worthwhile pursuit. It would be more worthwhile if somebody delivered on a better animation system.

I know this is MTR, but maybe if we keep poking the devs with requests something will be done...from what I remember ZPock had MD5 anims working...

Hi : )

Finished the model. Tweaked a little bits the maps, quickly textured the inside of the factory and here we go.

Image

http://cremuss.free.fr/files/factory.zip
The zip includes :
blender file (if you have a glsl shader gfx card, it's pretty nice ^^)
obj file
lossless png factory maps (color, specular, normal, self-illu and also a separated team color B&W mask)
ground maps

Don't worry about license, do what you want with it, I don't care ^^
Enjoy :)

Saktoth > you can find my old stuff here : http://cremuss.free.fr/files/

There is a .xcf file for the boat texture : it's the gimp native format so it should be easy to tweak the map as you want.

That's true :p
Also it could be wonderfull if spring could support bones based animation and have a cool cross-plateform integrated moding tools, cause these are, for me, the biggest features spring need the most.

Anyway, thanks guys.
Tell me if you need anything else to put the model into CA.

bye : )

1st: realy great model!

2nd: I have one candidate for "cool cross-platform integraded moding tool" - Blender :) - why to make whole program when everithing from maps, models to modfiles can be created in blender, with appropriate scripts ... even lua can be binded to python, ...

I'm interested as to your work process to create your metal texture and as to how you work up the edges etc. Custom brushes?

Warlord, here are some custom brushes. The one with a size of 3 is the brush I usually use for chipping off edges and paint (but if you need to make it bigger or smaller, just do that, it doesn't really change the effect), but the others are also usefull. There are a few good dirt/grunge brushes too. For the best result change opacity and flow, 80% opacity and 20-40% flow works pretty well with the edge chip brush, but you can try everything ofcource.
