Then the renames will get more creative...
Since springie currently has the nat mode to collect ips, it's easy to ban by ip.

Me and someone who'll be left unknown just managed to join game in progress and !voteexit it with only our 2 votes. It was 12 player game i think. Since it wasn't 16 player game we got player spots instead of specs and could do that.

I think this should get fixed somehow :D

I have dynamic ip, changes when i want it to (even when i don't) so ip ban won't solve it. It's not like i wanna be cock all the time tho, I'm just trying to help prevent this abuse.

Ingame join had been disabled.
For reliable banning enable "gargamel" mode springie then bans by IP.

And Wisse, I hope you and Leehu know that you got banned for that..

Disabled entirely? I hope you plan to actually fix the problem of letting non-players vote...

Lobbies allow joining games. Maybe the best solution would be locking the game once it starts.

And I have dynamic IP so unless you ban slovenia's subnet you can't keep me away. It's not like I'm gonna keep crashing them tho, I just did it to test if it's possible. For the good of others you could say XD

Ohmy i got banned from DSD hosting autohost. It's not like I'm gonna cry about it. Just don't ban me from Spring.

Oh, removing the ingame join *hack*. Don't make it sound like you're making springie autolock...

Well none of our hosts has dsd as default map, if people want to play it the can vote for it.

And yes, keep springie locked when it started the game (like it was all the time) should be enough to avoid ingame-joins.

Or you fix the problem and don't need to ever lock it.

But I won't have people joining the host when it's ingame anyhow, so there should be an option to lock it when the host is ingame.

Is there a wiki for Springie? I cannot find it!

What are minimum system specs?
I want to install it on a system without gui!

If you run Springie.exe with the -nogui switch, it can run without a GUI. Springie himself is running on a Linux server as "mono /path/to/Springie.exe -nogui /path/to/confdir". On windows, you wouldn't use mono, you would just run it directly with -nogui and if you omit /path/to/confdir, it will use the current directory.

How much processing power and RAM is needed for lets say 6v6 games?

negligible amounts of both.

well, thats nice to know :-)

Will a PIII 1 GHz running Ubuntu Server be enough? Maybe 256 Megs seem to be not enough...

Expect 10-20MB RAM for Springie.exe itself and almost nothing for the the dedicated server, regardless of player count.

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, forum, or if this idea has been suggested before, or is already implemented, but is it possible to make Springie randomize games (i.e mods, yes I know that isn't the right terminology), sothat more people can learn that Spring isn't just *x* Annihilation? (and, yes, theoretically they do, but if you look at the lobby, it tells a bit of a different story...)

There is a mapcycle but modcycle is not good idea, because mod change needs rehost = kicks everyone.

Rejoining isn't such a hassle, imo.. But yeah, I guess having more autohosts of less played games could just as well do then. Would it ever be possible to change the mod without needing to rejoin? That could take a bit of effort, though..
