Now to kitbash.. I have a lot of space here and frankly... i want to make use of all my texture space as this uses about 80% of a 1024 I have some room for graffiti etc but I am tired and that will come later :P

to those wondering about the patchwork buildings, that is so I can do variants of those little hangars.

now to get in wings and kitbash.

kitbashing is done, I ended up with 40 something objects... of course 3 of them are the parts of the radar dish(I wanted to animate it).

and yes, I know there is more I could do like water towers etc.. but I am damn tired and you know what.. this is plenty.

this has been one of my more interesting experiences.

So I decided to take a look at the first model that I ever uvmapped:

and touch up the geometry a little and totally rework the uvmap and texture (obviously ive done the model and uvmap, still working on the tex)

Looks really good Lemmi, if a little confusing.

That tankboat is fucking awesome.

Use it, use it to drive you to greater and greater heights! Keep making your project, give me a reason to think I need to raise the bar!

LL, much better.. thanks.

And now for something completely different.

128 x 128 ?
i think 256 would be better or the part with the wood is not that nice uvmapped... looks blurry
but otherwise really nice ! :)

Eh. It's for a third-person mod anyway. The entire time you'll see it on-screen it's tiny. I actually made the texture 256x256 originally, but it doesn't need it. Using 128 actually makes it clearer at a distance, bizarrely enough.

My only worry about all of Lemmi's models is that his love for hyper-detailed textures means you'll need a 50-foot screen for them to look good at a decent zoom, since iirc, TechWars is all about TA-style geometric growth, and thus will have obscene megafus/maker bases and will be zoomed out pretty far.

But otherwise, hawt secks.

It's not so much the super detail, but more that all the geometry falls within a very narrow tonal range. At a distance those tanks will tend to look like grey blobs, I'd imagine...

I am pretty much backing warlord z on that.

@GMN: GJ! If anything, I'd raise contrast a bit more, but that's just a teeny kibbitz.

@LordLemmi: Preshading is a must, or will be a big blob of gray. That, and it's noisy. I'd use more color, and less pure gray tones.
