I know, but there you can only choose maps/mods that are playable... I was talking about option where you can restrict certain maps/mods from being used.

It restricts them from being used.

i typed in "limit mods" "balanced annihilation V6.41" and then the host only opend the mod 6.41, so it is restricting all but the maps in the list :?

And springie doesn't start when you try to disable the trackers with:

Code: Select all

  <TrackerServers />
in main.xml

using
<TrackerServers>
<string>none</string>
</TrackerServers>
disables the tracker but prints "Connection to server closed" into the console.

Then keep trackers online - it is supposed to be working it just needs hashes fix..

And regarding mod limit - i dont understand what you mean.

My springie starts connects then immediately disconnects, waits 60 seconds and does it again.

Any ideas?

What is in the error log?

I made you a screenshot to explain better what i want:

Image

If i use select one mod in "limit mods" it gets the only chooseable that you can switch to in Springie. (see screenshot).
And i was talking about a feature that restricts the mods i enter in this list, so that you can choose all other mods from modinfo-file (or tracker) but not the files from that list.
(and same for maps ofc)
I hope it's now clear ;)

And that is the reason why I'm not using the Tracker at the moment - I created a own Map- and modinfo file from my local maps and mods, thats the a much easier way to limit the maps and mods on the host than typing a hundred maps into that "limit maps" list.

If you don't want to add that feature to limit the maps and mods i was talking about, a chat command that can add maps and mods to that existing limit maps and limit mods list would do it, too. (Like a replacement for !dlmap and !dlmod)

And another thing:
Where can i set in the latest springie the values for "max. units", "starting energy" and "starting metal"? The only place where i found it was in the presets section and even there it doesn't work
Image

edit:/
Changelog of 1.33:
"* removed allowingamejoins (not needed, lobbies allow red game joining)"

and how can I avoid that people can join ingame?

And another feature request: "!votekickminrank" (i think this is clear what it should do)

You can set metal etc using !listoptions

There is already kickminrank

and how can i make springie to use the things i can specify with "!listoptions" as default?

and i wrote votekickminrank not only kickminrank

You can add them to preset command list

I know about these presets.. but I can't find a Option to set f.e. preset 5 as default (so that it gets loaded direct after springie is started) anywhere

I dont think thats worth implementing. Mods have default set correctly and if you need something extra you can apply it after you start springie.

Those are the last two things in the log, but spring-dedicated.exe is in the same dir as springie, and when I started it just now, it does the same thing but didn't write anything to the log. It's wierd, it logs in and loads up the players for about 1 sec then it stops... I even tried the firewall, etc.. but no go? Any other ideas?

Again this is all i get.

Over and over every 60 seconds.. as it tries to re-connect.

Thanks,

I do think it's worth implementing: I have no idea why but sometimes I join my autohost and see that it switched back to the defaults (energy limit 500, unit limit 1000, etc). Most people of course are not aware of the (only) !preset "default" I created, so I have to set it. The autohost is running a VMware on a dedicated linux root server (since running Springie with mono failed horribly) and I think there are sometimes network disturbances which make the autohost reconnect and lose its settings? No clue.. Anyways, default setting would be useful in my opinion.

Springie 100% works with mono.
Dont forget to install mono libraries it needs (like winforms2.0-cil)

Springie, Oxygen, Carbon, PlanetWars run on caspring.org debian server

Exe autohosts run on Andre's linux box.

oh.. I (mono newbie) gave up figuring out which backports packages to use.. I would have thought that Novell's official installer (from http://ftp.novell.com/pub/mono/archive/1.9.1/linux-installer/2/) brought everything that is needed.. no?

Maybe I'll try another day. You don't happen to have an advice for which packages and libs are necessary?

aptitude install mono
aptitude install libmono-winforms2.0-cil

did it for me on debian.

Well I just downloaded springie again and put it right over the other copy and now it works? I have no idea why, but I won't complain...Now I need to test it...

Maybe my problem is solved???

Could you please add a wildcard-function to the banlist? We have a lot of people, like knobhead that dodge the ban on our autohost by creating accounts with other names.

And again: how can i disable "allow ingame join" now?
