That jolly happy folkmetal style feels very boring to me, its just so fucking cheesy it pisses me off, but not cheesy enough to make me laugh :D

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, After The Gold Rush, Harvest, and On The Beach are the obvious starting points. Whatever you do, avoid Landing On Water.

IK, if you are unsure how to best deride this based on generalised prejudice, you may find this useful:

Obviously, just peruse this thread.
1v0ry_k1ng wrote:anything adressing angst, either in lyrics or sound, is juvenile...

dont get me wrong, decent rock is probably one of my favorite genres, but this shit,
Angst is a term denoting fear or anxiety, often applied to experiences of turmoil. Are you trying to say that all music which deals with tension is juvenile, or has your knowledge of the language been overborne by your desire to sow strife for attention?

Jimmy Eat World - your example of "decent rock" - has produced a modest body of work fueled primarily by angst, none of which is complex thematically or instrumentally. Thus, then, do you propose a scale by which the simplest and most intuitive music is definitively superior?
