@Smoth - that screenshot highlights how Spring really, really needs a proper animation system. The models are farking gorgeous, but they're standing bolt-upright holding weapons that look like too heavy to hold in those positions - especially the dude with the the omgwtfbbq canon.... but it would be nightmarish to animate proper, realistic-looking cradling of the weapons.

if you are using four sided barrels, make them square prisms and rotate them 45 degrees.

the guy with the wtf cannon has a temp anim, the guys holding the guns and missile pods are standing in proper ms poses.

The "magnum opus" spaceship looks good, except for the front which seems very undetailed compared to the rest. I would expect some sensor arrays there or something.

Because otherwise it would have to be stuck to its head and would get in the way of operating weapons that don't require a scope.

I'll take a picture of my desk later. It isn't a far description but you left out the models, reference books, manga, anime, clothes, pendants, flags and vidia games.

When I get done with all the other animations that have to do with gameplay mechanics I might go and do idle animations.

It's a sensor that's mounted on the weapon to give a view that's exactly parallel to the barrel and possibly higher zoom levels than the mech's internal sensors can deliver.
