Hot Rod
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0787475/
comedy that has an ad-lib style similar to Anchorman. Probably an aqquired taste suited best to he who liked Dude, Wheres My Car, but I laughed to the max

Stalker
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079944/
the film of the book that inspired the game, hoo-rah! Not only did it win a bunch of awards, but half the film crew got cancer afterward thanks2 filming in chernobyl no-go zone

Seven Samurai
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047478/
its in all the top 100 film lists for a good reason, shit is mega. A realistic 3 hour battle between 40 bandits on horseback VS 7 samurai and a village of peasant farmers

I recommend the movie, Your Highness. It is much more funny than I expected it to be and had a lot of unpredictable plot twists. It was really an enjoyable movie if you don't mind lewd humor.

7 samurai is extremely slow. It's a relic from a past age of movie making long gone, greater than most from it's time, but not the action packed modern films we are used to. It's definitely good, but it might be a quite taxing if you aren't willing to slow down and enjoy it for what it is and have some patience in the slower parts.

What Swift is trying to say is that the general public lacks the necessary acculturation to enjoy the Seven Samurai, and by extension it may not appeal to many of the people in this thread.

OH, I'm sorry, I forgot to tailor my recommendation to account for the lowest common denominator audience

and its not in 3D

maybe it lacks modern pacing but its not like recent movies are all suited to those with little patience;
TradeMark wrote:if there was some solid plot instead of that girl wandering around the hospital every 5mins, then it would have been worth watching. i just couldnt give a shit about the reality crap there when they kept talking bullshit... bla bla, so i just skimmed through the movie and it was basically the same so i just ragequitted.

lol, fair enough. 7.9 on imdb would mean its generally considered a good movie tho right? From your comments i thought it was the pace that put you off "the fall".

I could have played it 8x speed and still kept track on the "plot". Now, is that how movies should be?

The movie was like watching my screensaver, well, actually, my screensavers are more interesting.

Seven Samurai is one of the fastest three hour movies I've ever seen. If you want slow try Andrei Rublev.

k

I'm just saying, it's an action movie, but in a sense very different from what that means today. The action isn't even very good, but the story is really neat, and the character development carries the plot. Go into it not expecting mindless fast paced action and you'll enjoy it more. Don't mistake it for what it isn't, it isn't a modern action movie.
