Right(I call it dont argue with Neddie)...every superhero can be said to represent the nature of US or embody one of its values if you twist it right yada yada.
The only superhero who was actually designed from the beginning to showcase "American values" was captain america.

The only one you know about.

U.S. Agent
The Shield (Archie Comics, Predates Captain America)
American Eagle (Marvel, Native American)
The Fighting Yank
Liberty Belle

Probably a hundred more.

who cares about those aside from comic geeks.
Im talking comics heroes even hot chicks know about.

Shit i can probably take a piece of paper, draw a smiley face on it and proclaim it to be a comics hero and call it the American super smiley who fights poor kids in the third world who want a launch break in their Nike shoes producing sweat shops.
Although it embodies some of american spirit(im joking)and is drawn on a piece of paper it doesn't mean my super hero is a viable candidate for out discussion.

Sorry to crush your dreams, but I don't think you're talking with hot chicks here.

Which group do you belong to?

Everybody says it sucks but I want to see it so badly >_< My respect for Snyder grew with each project and he didn't let me down yet. Maybe if I go into the movie with really low expectations it'll be "good" :?

to be fair, nobody cares much about captain america either; even more of a mary-sue than cyclops. i refuse to believe that anything involving him can be of any interest (prove me wrong hollywood)

this movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386651/ "Mountain Patrol" is great; its about a group of law enforcement agents in tibet with next-to-no funding trying to hunt down poachers who are after these endangered tibetan antelope

based on a true story told by a reporter who tags along with them; i was watching it thinking "man i know people who would PAY to go and drive around in the wilderness in trucks and shoot poachers" and here these guys are, struggling to do it with no discernable income.

the landscapes in the movie are gorgeous; it's incredible the sheer size and emptiness and alienness of the vistas; throughout the entire movie you never see a single tree. pace is a bit slow, but certainly not as slow as "the road"

None of them, apparently.

I actually didn't present my opinion at all. I enjoyed it, it was a thoughtful presentation of abuse through fantastic sequences and special effects. The simple presentation of relationships and power in an exploitative environment was oddly compelling and I related well to much of the film. The action was enjoyable and well-shot, and the sexual components were restrained.

I think many people here would be uncomfortable with it, or ignore the subtext which generates much of the content in the story. So I recommend it to those who are more flexible and empathetic, but cannot recommend it to the rest. I think you'd probably enjoy it.

I'd say it's a great movie to watch once. It's pretty depressing though, however, I won't go into details.
