imo add a bit more red to the exhaust, it looks pink

1) it doesn't look pink in the least bit
2) adding red *would* make it look pink

Exhaust flames actually are mostly white/bright yellow/orange.

Yes, and exhaust smoke is mostly a pale grey, unless it's using diesel for fuel.
