You should actualyl read swiftspears rules, this is the first rule listed on that sticky:
1. No flaming or insulting of other users, respect for all other users is mandatory and assumed regardless of postcount, amount contributed, or time active.

He only indirectly insulted people. If you seriously are insulted by some person posting a stupid thread saying "I don't like E&E", you should grow thicker skin.

I mean, honestly, you can't wander around our community without taking a knife in the gut anyway. Yeah, I love you guys, but we are dysfunctional loons.

Thicker skin isn't the issue, acting in a way that's intended or likely to annoy people isn't acceptable. Asking for the "best mod" while ignoring important ones (and brushing them aside with a "I don't like it" comment) and including completely irrelevant ones (TA Overloaded) is trolling.

I mean, that's like posting a poll "What's the best console": Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, NGage.

Also generally asking for "the best" is flamebait because it doesn't ask for oppinions but claimed facts, an oppinion like "I prefer XTA over BA" is inarguable but "XTA is better than BA because ..." will cause arguments as it is a difficult claim and usually just an oppinion disguised as a fact. It creates the assumption that one mod is objectively better than another and that indirectly everyone who disagrees with that "absolute best" is an idiot.

Didn't know there was anybody working on such a thing. Really, I'm suprised Gundam isn't more popular with the Speedmetal/Greenfields crowd, since it's maker-oriented economy and superunits sound right up their alley. I've only played Gundam a bit, but from my experience SimBase is a huge part of the gaem (the other part being raiding the enemy's SimBase).

Nah, gundam doesn't have a lot of simbase.. the economy is really simple.

Gundam has no superunits that trash armies alone (except for the comms) and it lacks turrets that can be massed to stop any assault. Speedmetal players want their mods to be like SupCom, super big defenses and hueg liek PS3 superunits.

How could I possibly miss this thread... stupid 3 week training course I guess.

Damn this thread has it all... lots of oversized pictures, a biased poll, flaming people and lots of useless arguments. 8)

The OP just was kinda naive. It would have been smarter had he been lurking somewhat longer, but do you seriously think he *intentionally* left out Gundam, Kernel Panic, Nanoblobs, LLTA, Chaotic Destruction, Combat Lords, Corpse Annihilation, Covert Ops, Dozerz, GINTA, Duel, Final Frontier, Fleas vs Krogoth, Fuck the fark, War Evolution, Krog War Evolution, Commander Shooter, NOTA, builders_wars, Eternal Strugle, Expand and Exterminate, Starwars, TA Battlefleet, the blue tanks and 1944 to insult the creators of those mods? Sounds kinda surrealistic to me...

Heck, this thread can barely be called a flamewar even, it just appears to me as a bunch of unrelated uninteresting posts combined with posts in which it is suggested that this thread is / should be turned into / will be turned into a flamewar...

AF, you should actually read the rules, e.g. felony 4
