Oo I use bombers to good effect almost every game... Oo
I was talking about for modders... They don't have enough control over how a bomber behaves, it's a VERY restricting system on the mod side.
dont wory swift he is a nub, he p0rcs then spaems lvl 1 bombers but gets pwnt because he doesent know what tier 2 is :P

good there is one already well established here. ^_^

I was and still am a big fan of TA and having just switched over to a dual OS (mostly linux now) I'm ecstatic that there are those still here to not only carry on TA but to improve upon it and make it an even more amazing game. I have yet to even download it and I'm already hyped up about it.

So, thank you in advance as I'm sure I will not be disappointed.

Speaking of linux, is there a linux lobby client? How is the stuff in that stuff going? I don't want to have boot to windows to do stuff.
"Stuff" is the greatest word in English.

You can:
Run TASClient in wine
Run AFLobby (It syncs fully to tasc now, iirc)
Run UnityLobby (Not sure what state it's in)
If you really have too much time on your hands, telnet!

There are a few other lobby clients as well, not sure what state they're in. Check the Linux forum.

You know what SupCom needed?

MORE NUDITY!

As I examin what I wrote, I realize that it implies that there's nudity in the first place because how can someone have MORE nudity if there's none to begin with and...

I still think Spring Needs a Gulf War Mod with Nine Holes and Tiggers in the Woods. Zoombie do you still have Sex or do already play Golf ? ;)

And we deserve a Derail Award. That would be another Cool-Mod Idea - a TrainbuildingSim - and Bandits, who have to derail them in FirstPerson. ;)

I only think that sup comm will become most popular than spring unfortunatly for his developper team :(

But it is the life : you dont play to AlexKid even if this game had been the best play of the world when the "sega-mastersystem" has been sell at first time ...

All the games will be obsolete a day and this day approach for spring

I think that spring is still in progress and thus it's final form cannot be determined. Hell most mods including my own are still by and large 3do models. As more mods s3o their units, add in custom effects, utilize lua etc spring will finally start having true content. Then as that is going on the devs are CONSTANTLY improving the game.

However, it has been the stance for some time to keep spring small and not massively advertise it. The current de-sync issue is enough to ruin the game for TOO MANY people so they are working on resolving it. After that MAJOR bug is dealt with I AM confident that spring's community will explode.

See, unlike GPG, which basically stops support for their games soo fast your will be tossed in the blow-back winds. Spring has a very accessible group of devs who work VERY hard to improve the engine. This engine is not complete but it is being worked on. Supcom is done for the most part. That is IT that is all there is to it, icon wars. Enjoy.

Spring will continue to grow, both content and engine will grow and grow. I am happy to see my mod in spring. You do not see me rushing to port gundam to Supcom because in my eyes, outside of the bluring and more complete interface it is not very special. I honestly think spring will be one of the best rts engines to EVER grace a pc and when it is complete and the mods are mass produced.... OH SHI----

For Springs unser community to grow significantly, I believe we need the following, in order of importance:

() No desyncs
() Some kind of ranking system built into the lobby that depends on wins/losses/disconnects
() Mods that stay consistent over months to years
() A nice, useable GUI out of the box
() A way to easily play single-player skirmishes out of the box
() A way to automatically download maps and mods from the lobby
() Map scripting for fun minigames like tower defense and stuff.

edit: Oops, I can't post in this thread without stating that I love spring and appreciate the effort that went into making it very much.

@superppl
UnityLobby version in svn fully syncs with TASClient. Doesnt display map restrictions / unit restrictions though....
And theres a bug in lobby channel code, that may bite at times...

Working on complete rewrite atm, with some new nice features
