It's pretty much a given that it requires a card with two monitor plugs. Is it possible if one has an LCD, and a CRT, or do they have to be matched sets?

I use both an lcd and a flat panel with my fx 5200.

Oh and I forgot to mention... there is no dual monitor support at the moment. in fact, I remember sticking code in before to make sure the mouse doesn't leave the primary monitor :P I personally would love to see this feature put in. If time permits... who knows

jouninkomiko, I will shower you with gold ... or puppies -- if you implement dual-monitor design. It would be phenominally useful, and not nearly enough games do it. Talk about a way to set Spring apart from the pack!

I am curious... I have not heard an answer to my earlier question...

Are ya'll going to fix that solid color issue? What happens when someone raises the ground under a ship that is in a man made lake?

Perhaps you just get a nice new turret that could possibly be freed later with careful managment. Its been done in real life before, and it actually might be kind-of cool. So long as you are knowingly doing it and not burying any subs and such.

There are the new PCI-Express sluts.

With them, we can go back to a similar old situation where we could have 2 grafic cards working together. With AGP you can not have more than 1 AGP slut.

With 2 cards, not only will you have the possibility to conect to 2 external devices, like 2 monitors, but you can also have them both working together to speed up a program.

Imagine, having 2 mega PCIx GeForces 6800 pumping all of they're power together.
Hmmmmmmmm.

So subtle and yet so effective.

I meant that fighter planes can't guard, which isn't good. Prolly will get fixed soon.

You can't space with TAHOOK, which was something I really appreciated while making defenders.

Multimonitor should work as you can just set your desktop to 3000x1200 or something with nvidia tools and then adjust the size of spring to this resolution manually in the settings.

Also you don't see the cost of units or buildings when clicking on them in the build menu. It's a bit weird they left this out.

I just noticed some more things.

Firstly, there's a feature alloing to draw lines on the map in a funny blue color. I have no idea what's it for. I'll post a screenshot when Alantai uploads it.

Secondly, I found that radars ARE obscured by terrain. So, if you and a radar are on different sides of a mountain, the radar won't see you.

Which is going to be interesting when it comes to the AI's.

*remembers he has a post to make*

Its markers from the recorder dummy :D

Radar is realistic. Radar are just waves that can be obstructed.

Alantai, stop spamming.

Napalm, stop copying Alantai.

As for the dual monitor thing:

The way you can have dual (or should i say "multiple") monitors is either by having an AGP/PCI graphics that has multiple monitor ports, multiple cards that have only one monitor port, or some combination of the two.

As for the "drawing line" thing that Sean mentioned:

This is a carryover from TA Demo Recorder for OTA; its quite a useful feature. For example, you can draw battle plans, circle/mark strategic locations, and communicate with allies. Its a whiteboard, and its very very useful, especially with an ally.

well this topic turned around quickly into another request with the dual monitor thing guys PLZ go make another topic for this its slightly annoying to think ur lookin at impression to find a dual monitor conversation I understand I digress also but Im not tryin to start a fight here but just pls take it somewhere else this topic is nearly half dual monitor chatting.

Ok my impression. wow the graphics are great and it seems it still doesnt lag and Ive been lookin for that game forever. cause I have CnC Generals and I lag like hell and TA is really the only good game I can play that doesnt lag so THank you guys

regarding radar: are there radar circles on the minimap like in OTA? They would be useful for showing what mountains are blocking coverage.

regarding whiteboard function: I know how it worked in OTA with the demo recroder. Culd you guys describe how it works in Spring, where the landscape is 3d? Does it automatically switch to OTA overhead view?

regarding multimonitor: if you have 2 monitors, you know why this is so important. And it's cheaper than you think--I'm using an Geforce 3 AGP and Geforce 2 PCI.
