wow, that does look like a great map. you really need to make it. no worries about hijacking the thread, theres always something good to be learned from things like this.

The terrain on this map looks terrible.
Go back and do it again, and do it the RIGHT way this time. 1:1 Ratio. None of this 1:8 per pixel land types bullshit. DO IT RIGHT!
