I played it 2v2 once, it was nice, but boring.

It wasnt ment to be to interesting to look at, as it was originally made for Atlanti to test his AI on i think, and AI do not care what a map looks like.

Well, good news =)

One of the owners of Team Genesis decided that the Spring tourney winners deserved a prize. Which means that the both members of the winning team will receive a little token as a reward.

I'll keep it a secret for now, but be assured that it's very nifty. And shiny.

Note: any one wishing to receive this prize would have to be okay with giving me/the owner of teamgen.com their name, shipping address, email, and phone number (in case something goes funky with the shipping). If you are uncomfortable with this, that's just fine, but no cool prizes for you =)

In other tournament news, thank you players for posting contact information; I was a bit short sighted there, and forgot to ask you to do so.

Also: Since no matches have been posted yet, PLEASE use AA 1.44. If you have already played a game using 1.43, let me know and we'll work something out, but since I don't think that any games have been played yet, please update your AA version to 1.44, and play using that.

Edit: Players, feel free to make use of the MatchScheduling page, found here

Yeah, I watched it last night. Solid first match. Nothing amazing, but whoever was doing unit control for TeamHeron was pretty impressive.

Good start, keep the replays flowing =)

Maelstrom wrote:Rolling Hills, as in the one I made ages ago in about 5 minutes, that has just one repeating texture, and is really quite boring? I have never seen anyone play that...
Yep that rolling hills, and yes you could make a better texture for it, ... somehing that shows the valleys/hills... someone called this "shading" but im not sure its only that.. Its more like if the ground/vegetation/stone that is in the hillysides of something had effectyvely a different look.. what a babble..

I've played that map like.. 5-7 times myself, mostly beacuse i suggest it.
(i can send (old?) replays of great games there)

the mixture of small hills and the "not standard" distribution of the metal makes it a very interesting field.

You can either use tanks or kbots, .. .. this is a bit odd, kbots should be the way to go, but tanks can make their way aswell, and have the strength advantage.

The metal ammount, coupled with the size of the map, makes for a fast, full of action gameplay.

Its perfect for 2v2.

Oi, i just wish i knew this tourney was happening sooner, Team NR would have loved to join up in this little competition of destruction. No biggie, when's the next one? And will there be a formal Clan competetion at all? The Nameless Rebellion would like a chance at TA:Spring gold.

I'll let you know on the next one when I finish the current one and get some feedback on how to improve.

And yeah, I'm planning on a clan match, since more clans are popping up each day.

sweet,
just keep us informed an all. It would be really cool if betalord could like put Tourney info into the server's MOTD, that would be neat. But you know, im just a lurker and all.

I played so totally craptacular. can you think of sitting at a LAN, at 10 PM, with screaming mates in the background, while trying to play passable?
(not good, i promise you)

Meh, i guess you were worth the win tho, i should've shut my mates up..

(ownd you in the game after tho ;))

it is possible to catch games results (who died) and post them automaticly to a website (or whatever) if you need it, just ask
i don't follow this thread, use PM or IG PM rather than replies :)

Well it seems that nobody played except for us....

since we are te only ones who won a game... we are the winners

to be honest, i think its sad that the idea died like that,
another try? maybe 1on1 for a start...

if you wait another month, you can count on me again, then my exams are past

Yeah, this kinda went poof when I had to go on a hiking trip.

In any event, I'm back, and I'm going to take another swing at this.

Live and learn, so this time around it'll be "RedDragon" style, or all the matches played at the same time - that is, I tell you when the tourney is happening, and whoever shows up then is in it, and the ladder goes from there.

More details later.
