if this site is official can the link on the
games site be updated?
(and you should really put the source of the webpage to github or something similar, so others can contribute / you've a backup...)

A Thing that always bugged me .. could you have the forum threads organised in a diffrent way? I mean, you always have the first page of a thread, and the last page of a thread, and thats about it... now assuming, that awesome posts get the most replys, you could make a algo, which filter out the most awesome posts, and show those sitenumbers.

Look at the page numbers below.. soon they will be on the 5fth page or the sixt... and then they will look like 1,2,3... 7,8,9
Which does say nothing about quality posts, or were the thread was interesting, or such stuff. Now if you have a website with a phpboard of your own, you could analyse the threads, finding the post which yielded most results in every thread (just sort them by quotes, replys) and then you could make a page list that would look like 1..3..5..8,9
It would make it much easier to find intersting stuff.

Nice job, it is a pretty good site already. Would be great if it is finished when the new models are done (and BAR could be promoted more actively).
I also like the media section and the tutorials in general. It seems the content gets update regularly atm.

I quite like the design.
Site seems a bit slow though and its wierd that it reloads every time i click on the menu to the left. <- I assume it can be optimised a lot, but im sure that will happen before we have bar working.

Too slow and doesn't work witout javascript. Simple wiki + forum would be better.
The good thing is there is no limit for improvement.

Most of useful internet works fine without javascript, with NOscript. It seems like all web noobs nowdays manage to write so horrible js to make huge delauys even for my 6 core CPU. Also many think moving thins are good, not good. When a user pushes a button then shit should happen instant not bars crawling and background flickering.

I totally understand: I use the
web mostly for information, so anything that is not text or image is a bother.
But this is a web site to
promote a computer game - it's meant to be flashy and everything, so it conforms to the expectations of gamers!

I agree with dansan. This site is to promote a game, not a wikipedia equivalent.

I understand the no-javascript argument. But why the hell should it be based on a wiki framework?

only original author can edit = stuck forever with tutorials like this:
Noobtrap for t2 defensive structures:do not build the arm long laser defensive building(Annihilator?i always confuse the name with the moving unit equivalent which by the way shouldn’t be built in most cases as well)It is shit and will die to land attacks as well as small air attacks just don’t build it.
If ur core u can try and build a doomsday i guess but moving attack units are ALMOST always better.
wat.

IMHO, the page looks overall quite good. Nice work.
I could image some improvements:
- The highlight colours of the boxes lead to grey text on white background... hard to read (especially on a laptop outside in the light). Not everybody uses a good monitor or has perfect eyesight.
- Loading time is really a bit on the slow side. But this has been mentioned before...
- I have to partly agree with the JavaScript "bashing". Though I am not generally rejecting JavaScript, I don't see, why the basic things on this page shouldn't work without (except maybe navigation, see next point).
- The animation of the navigation: looks nice the first time, but after this it stops you from getting quickly where want to go. IMHO, a static solution is more userfriendly and doesn't look worse.
- Two forums for one topic is always a bad idea. IMHO, when the page get's "offical" it should be decided either to use this one here or the one on the page....
- Minor: It's better if external links are recognizable; for example the link to the spring engine in the main navigation. Judging from feedback I got in the past, this "confuses" users.
- Very minor: Sorting of the tutorials could be optimized: E.g. "basic elements of GUI" is on the second page.
Just my 2 cents...
But as I said: overall nice page.

Unfortunately, there are also a lot of "professional web designers" doing this...
