Dont forgett the "expanded universe" of SA, zeroK, XTA & NOTA that plays in an alternate time line. It's like command & conquer!

Don't do that it really annoys me when you do this. I didn't say anything of the sort and take offense to the assertion.

I think we learnt that:
a) my mum is a gamer
b) she doesn't play BA cause the gfx sux or maybe cause no-one told her about it
I could tell her about it but I think she only likes computerised card games

Notice the ? at the end of the sentence, it was a question.
It seemed you had noticed yourself how "it is a PR deal ADD" and how people are unable to honestly answer polls about themselfs, so now I am even more confused if you take these numbers serious in any way.

You mean pages 8-11 where they cite a source? I think it is worth discussing. It is worth considering the trends in sales for games. The genres and trends are worth discussing ESP if most of the computer gaming market has their rts fix already bought.
I think it is worth discussing that the mean age has risen, is it higher or lower than suggested I dunno.
What is a gamer these days?
All questions I felt were relevant.
I don't like how even though I was still discussing the topic you felt that I should entertain a side conversation about how I was "basically wrong" in your opinion. 1984 is an entirely fictitious book yet people feel it is relevant in discussing politics. Instead people go HUR DURR that's bullshit and don't want to discuss it because the document wouldn't be on par with what the scientific community would find adoptable? That is stupid. When we have spent months and months discussing spring, how to market it, does it have an audience etc.. this document however skewed or lacking cite-able references is the most current report we have.
So I don't feel I was wrong, I feel annoyed that considering the fact that we have people here who believe what the pundits tell us others who's world view is centered around a shitty movie.. yeah this is probably more credible than say an old man who hears the voice of god with a funny hat.

Or has it? Maybe in 1995 video gamers were 37 years old on average, too.
From that .pdf, we can not tell.
Maybe it has even gone lower, sounds plausible to me too. A 8 year old can play games on a playstation or handheld console but was probally not able to set up a C64 so he could play games there.
The genres and trends are worth discussing ESP if most of the computer gaming market has their rts fix already bought.
Where from the .pdf do you see that ?
If you want to discuss what the video game market or something, sure, but to base anything on that .pdf is useless.
1984 at least explains why things are the way they are in the story. That report does nothing like that. It just gives numbers.

quality of game graphics, an interesting storyline, a sequel
to a favorite game, word of mouth
1.2.3.4...
Wow, the point i raised, and raised is on second place for reasons people buy games. Looks like the old fashinoned storytelling, still beats multiplayer gaming, that is on place.. oh, its not on the list.
Strategy 33 %... yeah, sure...
Its just hard to believe, with all that console stuff included in the statistics. Also.. there are games that are not games.. some actionshooters, some jump and runs, are not games in that you have to make a effort to loose. I for myself call them successimulators, because that is what they do. You basically are a railroaddriver for a aimbot in those ss.
