Pure DID, and doesn't any more.. wasn't successful. AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO BOUGHT THE THING?!?
I intended to out of curiosity to see how it would do, but never got around to it. I'm quite sorry to hear it wasn't successful

Also, that should help us cast off from Atari IP, making BA more sellable anyway.
While I don't disagree, I've had people tell me that BA screenshots/videos look "pre-rendered". Most people really don't care if the models are low poly, the *OMG 3D* effectively makes most people ignore model quality.
I've showed BA to literally hundreds of people and not a single one has mentioned how old the models look in screenshots/videos. Occasionally some will bring it up after they start playing the game, but the only people who really make a big deal about it are long-time Spring players, as if they have something to prove to everyone that Spring is above some vague standard that they set in their own minds. And most of THOSE people are people who don't play BA. I'd say 90% of BA players don't give a fuck that models are old.
Having said that I can't wait for the remodels cause that will really make anything with OTA models shine.
Where are those hundreds of people and why aren't they playing

Pretty sure it is already in the other lobbies.
Oh interesting, didn't know that.

Some of them are, although a sadly small number of them. Most of the few that still play will only do it if I invite them, though. Most "RTS players" really just want to play against a super easy AI and spend 30 minutes building a gigantic base undisturbed so they can build 5 of the biggest unit in the game and crush the weak enemy without opposition.
Obviously, no Spring game caters to that kind of player.

You just described every one of my "RTS player" friends.

It is insulting to compare the games to the cheesy tacky box with 100, but not in the way you think it is.
It's not drawing the comparison in a thread stating that you shouldn't bundle them all in one video under the spring moniker, it's actually doing that which is insulting.
Humble indie bundle does things differently. For one the bundle actually labels the games and describes them. When you watch a Humble indie bundle video you know your getting several games. When you look at the average spring video or trailer, you don't, the obvious conclusion to someone without prior knowledge is that there is one game not multiple, and that it's name is spring. That is what is insulting because it craps all over the hard work put in by people, *A and non *A alike.
We want more BA/CA/ZK/KP/EVO/S44/etc players, not more spring players, if your wanting to spread the word, get the word right first, then we can talk.

Snipped so you only have the bits you like?
I said that most people who play BA don't care that it doesn't have new shiny graphics. Am I discounting the work of people who make their mods look fantastic? Not in the slightest. I just find it amusing how you and many others (most notably developers of other games. Coincidence?), make SUCH a big deal about how ugly BA is, as if you're mad that something ugly is more popular than something you spent a lot of time making look very good. And that's totally understandable. But seriously, everyone knows what you think, and everyone knows BA is not pretty. It's not supposed to be pretty. That has never been a selling point of BA. And seeing as how pretty much all the people who play it don't care what it looks like and enjoy it how it is, why don't you relax with the "BA is old and ugly" diatribe? We've all heard it a thousand times before. Just let it go and let people enjoy what they enjoy without constantly spreading your angst against something you feel is inferior.

No, trying to show how it is being read. however your statement below this sentence confirms my concern that there is more of a personal defense to this.

and here we have the ugly truth. skipped the middle as I feel it was more fluff. Any time I or someone else says we think it is ugly you or others take it to be some sort of jealousy. I am surprised you didn't reply with "you mad, you jelly?" but do appreciate that you actually filled out the thought instead of barfing memes at me.
So you think it is because I am jealous about the "success" of BA. I can say this was entirely unfounded speculation on your part and urge you to reconsider your view as that isn't even close. It is like every time one of you BA/AA players feels it is time you bust out the "gundam is not successful so you are jealous" rebutal. Maybe it is a natural response but it is ultimately incorrect. Each time each one of you requires me to explain my view because you feel it is right to make assumptions about my view. I make a long winded post, you skim it and then drop it when you realize you will not get a rise from it. it is so old hat I almost copy-pasted one of the many threads I have made on the subject. However, since you are not some random dickhead and I somewhat like you.
I am happy with gundam.
I am not happy with ba because I played TA also and wanted to see it in 3d but not like this.
I do not play BA because it is based on AA and I do not and have never liked the economy model AA pioneered. It has nothing to do with gfx and everything to do with gameplay.
However, if BA was prettier, TA was such a fun game for me that I might play it. SO graphics could be a tipping point.
just saying, your assumptions were all wrong and you have no reason to continue to claim to them.
P.S. diatribe's definition is possibly not what you think it means, unrelated but it bugged me.

As of BA will ever make a decent effect
it would be miracle if the BA devs would focus more on graphical aspect (model, effects etc...)
the old explo texture looked better than the ,,new" one imo

I play BA and find it butt ugly. This is apparent especially when you make a nice map for it and the units clash so fucking much with the map its not even funny.

it means ba wasnt developed since a long time, just bug fixes and balance changes. and it means there will be no new BA (and i mean ba, there are other projects like BAR)

I agree that the spring vidoes you are probably thinking of are doing it wrong.
I still think that a video, if done right, could do a good job of advertising several games together, and not be bad simply because it didn't focus on just one game. I still think its important for spring games to advertise separately, but if one person wanted to make a good video of several together, I would not discourage them, in fact all the more power to them.
