again, this is NOT an issue of either l2p or me so awesome.
that the BA community mostly only play a single map and ignore all other mods should probably alert you to the obvious:

BA players dont like -or want- change. of any kind. ever!
Change? What is this blasphemy you speak of!

When you talk of big dsd games, the issue is that you need to l2p as a team. Yes that won't likely ever happen, but it's really counterproductive to balance for games that are never played with ideal strategies built with a decent, cooperating team.

And who are you anyway? Can you actually play this game decently

Yep and change without good reasoning sucks

forgot to mention, the credibility of your proposals is also proportional to your reputed skill at the game

Ok lets be honest, how often do comdrops happen early game in anything besides 8v8 games?

I can't even remember the last time I saw it outside of 8v8 dsd. And seriously nobody cares about little balance issues in 8v8 games, it's a shitfest and crazy things happen. Deal with it.

Also build aa for crying out loud, 2 dirt cheap defenders will stop a comdrop.

Quoting this for truth. If you're too dumb to counter a common tactic, that's your problem, not a problem with the game.

Even in a crappy 8v8 dsd game, if all 4 front players built 2 defenders, the entire team would be instantly immune to early comdrops. Yay.

tbh its so ez to get aa in the area where the com dropper is planning on escaping, as he's dgunning ur base, which i find is usually a nice trade cuz i like to save all my cons before comdrop lands then i rebuild on da nice free com metal

it depends more of the players, not map or team size. and u need 3 defenders to kill trans at once newb

This.

Also, don't even bother starting another Combomb/drop rant thread @ New guys.

if you build them a little in front of your base you can do it with 2.

And yeah it depends on the players, but its much less common in smaller games because there's a much higher risk involved.

Oh? And why is that? Surely if there's more players in the game then you're more likely to not come out of the drop alive?

I'm actually surprised it's not more common in a 1v1 - in that case, you'd have a more definite case of 1 team with an aircon and the other team with nothing but possibly a comm.

I think it's more that in a 1v1 it ends the game, making it kind of dull. In a teamgame you get to go on to smash the teammates.

It's not common in a 1v1 cause it's against the rules? wtf are you talking about anyway, if 1 player doesnt have a comm he loses, and how would a player with an aircon stand a chance vs a player with a comm anyway

This forum needs less noobs crying about balance and more noobs asking how to play :/

I mean losing your com is a bigger hit to the team in a small game than a big one.

And just btw I'm talking about early game drops.

Oh you mean risky for the dropper if he loses his Com when I was talking about the risk of actually losing the Com...

What I mean is, building an early lab and com dropping puts you way behind and makes you basically worthless to the team for several minutes, in and 8v8 game that's not as big of a problem as it is in a 3v3, for example.

Risk/reward analysis is all good. Except that the problem-comdroppers are the ones who don't care about the outcome of the game, who drop until they die, then quit and do something else with their time.

drop near enemy lab, dgun, and escape, and youve just earnt yourself a big lead

pretty do-able in teamgames

I've seen Comdropping work in 1v1's by pro's many times. It just requires "Regret" like skill.

Never said it was impossible.
