A side note about the trees, there arent that many on the map, and though some of them are quite high poly, they should not have that big of a performance hit.

see, i told ya.

seems like artturi doesnt actually play spring.. just makes maps and doesnt follow the community events at all.

OR he named this as "special" just to piss you off.

Well, I don't play much anymore, but Im definitely aware of the things happening in this community. I read forums quite often for example.

So, If you still didnt figure it out yet. The special in the end of the name was a "counter-attack" against Senna's doings and for this "special" hazzle overall. This actually shows, that mappers cant actually anymore include any "special" adjuncts to the names...

Because I was aware that im going to make next version, the name issue is not a problematic and can be changed for next version.
Only problem is that what would be the name... Redux it aint going to be quite sure, because theres actually nothing in FolsomDamFinal to revive... This is more like remake...

i had a feeling that you made it just to discuss about sennas map hijacking :regret:

although, nobody can add "speed" or "super" in the map names either...

but adding "deltasiege" will make it good no matter what :roll:

IMO.
You should call it differently.
The original is an excellent map.
There was nothing wrong with it.
Calling this one Folsomdamredux will eclipse one of them,either this one or the former one.
Call it something else..
I strongly suggest leaving the word dam in the name but changing the Folsom part into something else.

FolsomDamRedux or FolsomDamFinal or FolsomDamSpecial,hint that this version is the complete and corrected version of the former but they are both good in their own way and should be presented as separate maps.

DeltaFolsomDam or FolsomDamSiege are good candidates imho 8) if you wanted to attack senna's Special, you have nothing to lose attacking Delta or Siege. if it works, we all win.

FolsomDam is kind of a DSD by itself.
Its the third most downloaded map in JJ.
XTA community constantly plays it with big teams...
Don't get too excited,this map might be a sleeping horror.

Yes, I'm aware of this problem since yesterday. If you look at the smd, you'll see the problem... It will be fixed for next version also.

However, the hardness will still be quite high because i dont like the crater mechanics :/

If your mod is able to do better ones, you sure can override the maphardness also...

What about them dont you like?
If your mod is able to do better ones, you sure can override the maphardness also...
Cant do that yet. Possibly one day if we ever win that argument.

Why its cute little map you may be familiar with called Scorpio Battleground, Beherith.

I used black and white rather than the fugly red-green-blue elevation map. Thats what you're seeing and why the bottom of the craters shows a 'change' in texture, im just trying to show in this picture that in CA, the ground gets completely churned up: not just large spherical craters. Thats from an actual game too, and plenty of times the ground gets much muddier than that. Here is an artistic recreation:

few years after johnny cash recorded "folsom prison blues" he did another song called "big river"

as this is about two-three years after having made the first, i think you should continue with the johnny cash theme.

"big river hydroelectric" is my final answer; as nothing else in his songs would indicate a battlefield dam; except for "five feet high and rising" but i didn't really like that song much.
