Really strange. :(

I found the file in my build-directory:
/spring_0.80.5.2/installer/builddata/maphelper/maphelper/parse_tdf.lua

I renamed the directory to something else, started Springlobby, no errors for me. I've searched for the file in my system and this is the only place it exist.

Try reinstalling springlobby?

Edit: Why are you using Spring 0.80.5.1 intead of the latest version?
Edit2: What version of springlobby is installed?

Spring Lobby is 0.29 for Jaunty, and the source was built from spring_0.80.5.2, which is very strange seeing as the error says 0.80.5.1 :?

The lua is in the source folder, maybe I can just move it to the right place :P

stuff under /installer/builddata/ gets packet into the base files, that are the 4 files you have in your base/ folder. in other words, this error means, it does not find the base files, or finds the wrong base files.
infolog.txt would show you in which base dirs it is looking for them, and in which order.

Yeah, I had a look in the list of directories that were being checked.

The annoying thing about Synaptic is that it doesn't actually remove things when you tell it to - so I've got two "spring" binaries, one new one old: I checked both of them manually and got rid of the old one just to make sure, then double checked the executable path in Spring Lobby: everything seems to be working fine now, touch wood :?
