Doesn't skip get faster by this too as it in the end is nothing but putting the speed to the max possible value?

just to add to this thread, a little-known setting,
viewradius (terrain poly amount) is adjusted with the HOME and END keys
END key = less polys = more fps. a lot more. i'm down around 100, enough to play with /shadows 1 8192, which everyone should if they can. teh sex.
havent tried Behe's tricks, but i dunno if i wanna give up LUPS...

This seems to be a source of confusion, but just turning threaded optimization off does not effect the visuals in any way, just gives more FPS.

Too bad that can't be added to FPS manager because ex:

If you're starting at 400, you deserve to suffer as you lower it to 100.

Dunno if this helps anyone else - a few months back I reverted my display drivers (88GT) to older ones (175.16, that is, 5/2008 iirc). Fixed annoying alt-tab crashing and essentially doubled my fps with spring.

Maybe so, but terrain rendering is a constant load throughout the game, so it does not matter that much if you start out with 400FPS or 100FPS. It is the ever increasing unit count that will pose the real challenge for your PC.

Not at this time, no.
Beep, wrong answer! It can and will use any number of threads.
The extra cores are used for parallel rendering of units and terrain. The performance gain is small (5-10%) but verified.
Currently 3-4 cores is optimal. Additional cores may produce more OpenGL data than the single rendering thread can consume and may actually slow down the game.

Well when I tried turning on LUPS while watching over 1500 hawks flying LUAUI crashed! But by having it turned on while not looking at the hawks everything was fine!

good question...i think its some of the pixelshader effects like jet contrails warping what's behind it, and explosions' shockwaves doing the same thing

Oddly enough, explosion warps show with lupsmanager disabled. Only aircraft jet exhaust doesnt.

Well in CA you miss out on seeing enemy cloaked units when they take damage, seeing many useful lups effects in Alos or under cloakers and nano lasers which are much better at showing the location of a cloaked enemy unit that is being repaired compared to normal nano spray.

I just want to report that this MT version is working flawlessly... no problems in some 20+ games. I had to disable widgets behe mentioned in first post and ICEUI.
Now I allways have 20+fps even in huge FFA games or team 10 vs 10 spam :) Before it droped down to 7 :/

Beherith lups is still active even if you disable its manager.
Consult lups.cfg in spring folder.

That's right. With MT games that use unit_on_fire gadget freeze when the effect comes in. Disabling the manager doesn't help, disabling LUPS itself does!

How can I stop GML error spam?
Which mods does it work with and which mods doesn't it work with?
Which widgets does it break and not break?
Is this a major cause of desyncing?
