Precisely my point. Senna's "hijacking" BA's name, and now Greenfields' (insofar as it still has a good name) - OK, I've explicitly said this was a bad thing. I've no love for the guy either. However, I have never had dealings with him. I have had dealings with you, and I don't like the way you operate, even if you're right about some things.

Senna's mini mod maps are horrible. The part that really gets me is that people play them.

Why is this tolerated?
OMFG!!! he stole JJ's one colored map (100% green pixels)

JJ must have used lots of time making that map, and now, its all STOLEN, and not even CREDITED JJ of it!

But still, if keeps on releasing mods in maps, the situation will soon be out of control. Someone nukes those mapmods before it's too late!

I don't really know why you guys cry so much about it. For one, I played one of Sennas maps only 3 times, then I never even considered joining one again.

The first map which was changed, I know of was Superspeedmetal. Until now noone complained about it. Almost everyone has played it once or twice and then returned to the normal SM (or did't play speedmaps anymore)
If you don't know that your comm can build that special fusion you prettymuch loose...

The only describtion you get is that it's "super", in sennas case "special"

In my opinion, anyone who builds a map which changes gameplayfeatures in a massive way should ask the mod-admins, if they are allowed to distribute the map

The problem is, that only a different startmetal is needed to change the gameplay (usually its 3 - 4 mex spots), but in case of nometal/speedmetal maps it's off by a lot.

Afterall im glad that there are people who are active in spring (this includes Senna) and maybe they attract other people with their mapmods who then stick to spring :)

IMO map hijacking should not be allowed just like mod hijacking isn't. When somebody forks a map he should make it VERY clear in the title that it's a fork. Making a fork and just calling it v2 or 3 or whatever should be just as unacceptable as making a BA 7.0

That's beautiful. But the player doesn't see it when joining a game.

Senna is a great person in general, I'm sure. But he admitted to hiding the mod in the map. I'm a jerk too, and so is everyone else here. That's fine. Spring needs to change to show to players that there are modifications in the map and not rely on the map maker to indicate it in the name or description, as Senna did not. That is all.

The Special version sucks and its pretty clear by the name that its a completely different map with different values than the other ones.

And it sucks.

So why are you little girls complaining?

senna gimped himself anyway by limiting himself to one map.

But really DSD is the only map people who would find his mod enjoyable play so maybe it wasnt worth the effort to make his own mod :p.

I don't think any of this was done with the intent to "hijack." I think that is way off the mark. Has anyone actually spoken to Senna? You should show him/her this thread and point out what the problem is: I very much doubt it would be ignored. Additionally, when you see Senna hosting these rather ironically named maps, the link to that JJ page is in the host description. All of that aside, yes - people should be given the information they need to know what mod they are playing. However, what is far more harmful to this community and to this game are vindictive attacks that suggest a person's motivations before they are shown to be otherwise

You're a month too late with that response.

This should be locked as it is currently a non-issue.

Yeah. And pay attention, Senna openly admits he created the modmap and hosts it under the BA name so that people would join it.
