It looks like you put a lot of detail into a bit of texture then dropped that detail into a childs crayon drawing. Consistency ftw

I made at least 4 or 5 ... Some are good and a few not so good ... :mrgreen:

Trademark alone made like 30 metal maps...
Not sure how many of them are regular metal maps without nay crazy add ons.
If you want i can make a metal map but I really cant think of a nice setup that hasn't bee'n done already and would work well.

Maybe a medium 2v2 12x12 metal island map?that can also act as an FFA Map without crazy metal values or huge windz.

I promised Car a 6 way FFA map so maybe ill make it a metal map...can't think of a good set up just yet...
Probably a very edgy heightmap with islands...

Maybe just a Cross for 4 players.

Need a nice geometrical shape that is symmetrical and fits 6 players.

Than add on it some more levels of height.

just because you've released something doesnt mean people will play it... i've discovered this myself, as have you in the past.

the maps that i've made that gained any popularity, the chicken maps, probably only get played a lot because they fit a niche that hadn't been filled yet.

unfortunately (and i wish it were this way) its not as simple as "here gaize! new map! play!" people fear change, and they fear new maps, possibly as much as they fear new mods. it's tough popularizing content, as im sure you're already aware from previous endeavours. unfortunately all you can really do is keep plugging away and hosting games to popularize your stuff...

artturi has done some amazing work, and yet his maps see very little play time in general... so i don't blame him if he hangs up his mapping hat.

i remember you telling me (quite a few months ago) that you didn't want to host my map with your SA game because people are fearful of new things... im not bringing this up out of spite, im just reminding you that you already know that very few people are trying new stuff.

if i can offer any advice at all as a novice mapper, it's to give your map a gimmick... "just another snow map" might not be as popular as "the snow map with the dead yeti in the middle" etc... im sure you see exactly what im saying.

i dont mean to discourage you, in fact, i'd like to encourage you, because i know you think a lot about gameplay dynamics and im certain that you have a lot of good ideas tucked away up there; just don't get frustrated because that will squash your motivation.

I am hateful and make maps only for my project. I am on like hte 15th revision of river valley and now have a split version that has been through about 5 revisions.

of course, I am a crazy ocd person....
