Spring RTS Engine

well i got a das keyboard III. i ordered it from thinkgeek. it's awesome!

i'm now coding with visual studio 2008, resharper, vi-emu, and the das keyboard.

behold, ye geeks, and despair. for i am better than you.

i actually have to take the das keyboard home now, because it's just too fucking loud to use if some guys are working in the same room as you.

it is, however, the most awesome keyboard ever. if only they made an ergonomic version that felt the same but didn't make as much noise.

In all honesty... my opinions of the das keyboard are pretty low. It's like the nerd equivalent to $100 jeans with rips in the knees.

...and "washed out" with chemicals that make the fabric thin. Ordinary Cherry keyboards without any speshul keys are my favourite.

I use Cherry G80 silent since 1991 - that is 18 years now and works flawlessly since ever. Never failed me. + it has PRO feature - no windows key YEYS!

I washed it couple of times in dishwasher though (plastic only) :idea:

Your keyboard has a problem. It has no labels. Therefore, when you're looking for that @ key which mysteriously jumps around the keyboard, you're going to fail. And when you fail, boy will you PHAIL.

I might be a bit of a keyboard nub tbh but wtf is so special about your keyboard? Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like the standard keyboard that comes free with your fries.

Yes, pretty much. I prefer functionality and comfort over "lol I has cool clothes[keyboard]"

Hai guize, I bought jeans with rips preripped in them so I don't have to ACTUALLY DO WORK to get my jeans dirtied up, yay! Also, I love bleached jeans, gotta love how bright it looks. I wonder what they put on them to make them that bleached white color!? lol

The only advantage I see is the ability to press many keys simultaneously. But otherwise I'm not impressed...

If you buy this because it's cool to have a noisy and blank keyboard... Well, maybe I'll just say it's not, and keep it at that.

Maybe you should decorate it to make it look like it sparkles. Then, it'll be fashionable like Twilight.

So i brought my das keyboard home now, and am typing this post on it. And seriously, it's the most awesome typing experience ever.

It's like popping bubblewrap with every keystroke. Yeah, it's that great!

Also, you guys who seriously think you should only buy anything for it's practicality must be a lot of fun at parties.

By the way when you get jobs as software developers (like me!), you'll be rich (like me!) and will be able to stop hating and buy one too! holla!

i still don't get it... what is so fucking un ordinary about that keyboard? it looks very similar to the 20 dollar POS i have on my desktop to replace the keyboard i gate angry and ate the space bar in a drunken rage (yes i ate it).

That's exactly what I'm talking about! It doesn't even have it's keys labeled! I'd be expecting retailers to pay me for using it!
