Funny LathanStanley... Im actully 19.... I suposse 1 year may make all the difference.

If you discounted Nukes though, you would have a hard time taking the UK because its a small island. We hardly all fit on it let alone an opposing army. Theres nowhere to land, nowhere to hide.

Ofcourse the inverse goes for you... americas so huge England would get there and it would take years just to find where the hell everyone had gone. You could give us the run around for years...

I supose its a good thing were allied.

BTW, A friend whos bro was driving a british tank in the army told me an amusing (admitadly tragic) story. His bros tanks was driving into the city when the Iraqies understandably opened up with RPGs. The britsh tanks took it like men, however teh ammerican tanks that had just overtaken use with crys of "HAHAHAH are tanks are bettter you english lossers" got blown to kingdom come. The morel... well, always take a well built britsh tank you know will work, rather than a flashy fast american one taht will get blown up.

I like to celebrate the 4th of July as 'the day we convinced the Americans to leave and stop giving us a bad reputation'. Of course, now that America is getting too big for it's boots, revokation of independence is just around the corner ;-)

It's not like the rest of us go about setting off fireworks to celebrate our liberation by the Normans or the life of the king being saved from terrorists/revolutionaries.

I Personally think its time for a Lincoln, Washington or JFK equivalent in our presidency. I personally don├óÔé¼Ôäót like the way Bush manipulated religion to get him more vote's. That bugs me, because it is inherently written in our constitution to NOT have religion be a part of our government. Also Bush and Kerry and the other guy no one remembers all annoy the heck out of me.

And Stanly is being an ass, and most Americans i know (that├óÔé¼Ôäós pretty much everyone i know) are NOT like that. We aren├óÔé¼Ôäót a bunch of warmongering, nuke loving, idiots! Most people I know are violently democratic, who love our freedom and really whish we can get other people freedom with out invading their countries... because that├óÔé¼Ôäós when the whole plan begins to fall apart.

The nicest part about our country is that the government doesn├óÔé¼Ôäót send death squads to our houses that indiscriminately gun down and capture every one they see. Also on a list of GOOD things America had done├óÔé¼┬ª.

Light bulb
Cotton Gin
Computers
Telephones
Television
The latest incarnation of democracy that has spread to a bunch of OTHER countries! Yay! I mean, sure the Greek├óÔé¼Ôäós invented it, but our nation and our rebellious and pugnacious ways brought it back. Now we just need to keep it!
The nuclear bomb and its nicer and less killy side, the nuclear reactor
Airplanes
Movie├óÔé¼Ôäós
Talkies
Hollywood
Scientology*

See, we Americans aren├óÔé¼Ôäót all that bad. We just elected an idiot! Then we elected him AGAIN! But as they say, third times a charm right. We also landed on the Moon, and if we can convince our sloth like governmental bureaucrats to get of their ass, we can also land on Mars, witch would be even better then landing on the moon! If you want to know why, I will writ up a very long post about it! If you cant see the value of space travel├óÔé¼┬ª├óÔé¼┬ª.. you├óÔé¼Ôäóre a ninnyhammer!

*Scientology is a scam, with their being 10 ├óÔé¼┼ôbible├óÔé¼Ôäós├óÔé¼┬Ø that each cost 500 to 600 Dollars. Their latest recruits include Tom Cruise and a bunch of other gullible idiots!

you people do know the world is secretly controlled by the dutch right? :)

In 30 years china will be the major superpower, with their population of 1,3 billion people. Meanwhile the value of the $ will drop and we in europe will still be discussing left-wing politics without any real economic progress.
yes china has the manpower to compete far better than the USA, and now it is heading towards a rich and prosperous capitalist future, becoming a major political power in the east already, revving up its military with european technology, bankrupting other countries in markets such as cheap clothes (america is seen to eb scared of this, and the EU faces an economic crisis if nothing is doen to compete with china). And india sweeps up the mess.

And as for americans being democratic and very eager to be that way..

Every month almost for the last few years the daily mirror goes to time square and takes a poll of say 50 people randomyl passing by.

Of 50 people during the iraq conflict only 1 person could point it out on a world map, some even pointing at places like the UK japan canada, or alaska.

When asked whot he G8 where, nobody knew, the closest was: they're an environmental activist group trying to raise awareness of africas poverty by organising live 8. Some people said it was a brittish boy band?!?!?! And the majority thought ti was a toxic chemical or a vitamin tablet.....
Meanwhile the value of the $ will drop and we in europe will still be discussing left-wing politics without any real economic progress.
This is what tony blair si talking about when he tells the EU to reform, people should work longer if they want to and sign an agreement stating that they do, ti helps the economy stay afloat, it lets people work longer if they need the money etc... Discussing politics as you said is what the old guard do, gerard schroider, president putin, jacques chirac, theya rent itnerested in europe, just how much money they can get for themselves, they c*cked up the EU cosntitution, france itself gets a quarter of the Agriculture subsidies that was meqant for 25 countries etc....... Eitherway the dutch PM looks set to loose his position later this year, and chirac is the most unpopular french president in their history.
Slavery
1) it was a British idea 2) it was nothing to be proud of 3) just about everyone abolished it before the US
If I remember correctly, the only reason black people can vote in america is because the southern states wanted mpre power than the northern and they just happened to ahve lots and lots of black slaves. Thus it was written itno the cosntitution, but eitherway the founding fathers of america where racist.

And ti was not a brittish idea! Slavery was around before britain was even inhabited, tens of thousands of years. And if I remember correctly, the brittish where the first to abolish slavery.

Telephones - brittish
Television - actually, an american and a brittish man did it around the same time, the brittish john logi baird did it first but that was mechanical TV, the american version was completely electronic. In the end John Logi Baird lost broadcasting rights to marconis electronic version after his operation centre mysteriously burnt down, and the poor boy in the US was bought out by RCI.

The nuclear bomb and its nicer and less killy side, the nuclear reactor -- German phycisists both founded the principles and defiend the encessary steps to build it. After that bombs where built by americans russians nazi and brittish governments based on this. It just happened that the americans built there's first and the anzis went boom before they could finish. Eitherway thank german physcisists.
Airplanes -- yah you got one there, but it was the brittish that marketted it as a major war weapon, and then started the commercial business of cheap holidays in the 50's.
Movie├óÔé¼Ôäós -- Brittish

As for tabloid reading moron? I read a lot of papers(broadsheet +tabloid(the onyl tabloid I'll read is the daily mirror the rest are crap)), I watch the news, I know what part of it is fact and bias, its caleld being media smart. I get the impression you like weaponry a lot. I know soemone from my form in school who likes it a lot too. He knows masses on guns artillery, weapons of war etc. A bit too much. I guess if you or him where put in charge of everythign you'd start wars on the spur of the moment.

And yes you have been invovled in 50+ conflicts since the end of ww2, I have a great big list of them somewhere....

Yes, its a good thing that we have gifted the world with Sientology and all sorts of things that where dveloped in our country, if not by our naturaly born citezens. America is also the birth place of Jazz, and really it is a NICE place to live!

It really really is!

We also landed on the moon, whitch HAS to count for something! Sure it was only the greatest acheivement of mankind EVER! Sure it the sience and hard work behind it still BOGGLES the mind today. Sure it was only a giant rocket, powered by liquid oygen and liquid hydrogen that where combined then lit up to provid momentum, so said rocked, could shoot across space towards where the moon was GOING to be, from a giant ball of dirt that is simultaniously whipping through space around a giant nucklear fireball that is whipping throuhg a galaxy at a million miles a secont. And sure, we just had to get them BACK after they landed on the fore said moon, back intailing shooting back to a rapidly spinning ball of dirt, and to a place that was supposed to be a single point in the Alantic Ocien. And guss what!

WE got with in 100 to 50 meters of out target point! Well... now all we have to do is get abunch of other countrys together to fire a joint mission to Mars, witch is actually cheaper then one might think. It only costs 10-50 billion dolloers, and thats about as much as it takes to deploy a new form of battle tank, or to make 50 jet bombers! Why not spend that money on setting up a station on mars that could not only pay for itself with a huge array of different minearls and spiffy elements that can be used to make secont generation fusion reactors, but the station would ALSO provide for the future of the humian race, boost sientific advancment as all fronteer's including America, Africa ext did.

Light bulb

Cotton Gin

Computers

Telephones

Television

The latest incarnation of democracy that has spread to a bunch of OTHER countries! Yay! I mean, sure the Greek├óÔé¼Ôäós invented it, but our nation and our rebellious and pugnacious ways brought it back. Now we just need to keep it!
The one where a man can be made president with the minority of votes and where laws are regularly bought by large capitalist organisations?

The nuclear bomb and its nicer and less killy side, the nuclear reactor
Funded by America, a lot of the scientists were form other countries, the theory was Einstein's

Airplanes
Cornish chpa, 50 years before the wrights

Movie├óÔé¼Ôäós
France, I think, may have been Britain

Talkies
*shrug* so you can play a soundtrack with a movie

Hollywood
Oh, yeah, making such blockbusters as the Lord of the Ri.. oh, no that was New Zealand

Scientology*
*shrug*

There's no real advantage to putting people on other planets/moons, (except colonisation, which a mission a few days long isn't) resource collection is the benefit, but no-one's done that yet

You can continue if you like, but I'll come up with a reason why everything that you say is either a disadvantage or someone else's idea. It's just the way I am.

But the mission for mars that i wasthinking off (http://www.pescu.net/marsdir.htm) whitch is called (correctly) mars direct. This would have people on mars for... about... a year and a half. Around that. Thats more then just putting down flags, and once we starte sending more capsules down they are actually desighned to link together and form a small town. THis allows astrunoguhts (or cosmonaughts) who want to stay longer to well... stay longer. Eventualy (about 5 to 10 years after this is set up) we can start sending people to mars who want to work their. And the main incentive to go is A)Land on Mars is cheap, its just the Dome thats expensive and B)Labour on mars will be a little short as their is LESS people there. So it means better job security, and better paying jobs. It would actually be lucrative to go to mars and work a hydroponic garden, or be a technician (whitch is MORE important then gardening). You could sighn up to be an exploere, or a constuction worker or any other job on mars.

So dont say there is no use in the space programn, or anyonther short shighted crap like that! Not that you did, but i want to warn everyone else whom might utter the idiot words "You will get a rather hefty rant from ME!"

PS: I just read today's news paper and... guse what? The Natinol Christan Church is supporting Gay Marriges? WHA! That was unexpected

we americans didn't lay down the fundamentals of math, physics, or even governmental rule.... you europeans did that yes,

but what we americans DO do... we do the dumb crazy shit that everyone else won't do, or are too scared, weak (financially or resourcefully) to do...

europeans have no problem building nice cars, airplanes etc...

but when it comes to crazy shit like flying to the moon? lol we take the cake...

building nukes... ok everyone does it...

launching them? we did it.... we didn't know what it'd do.. but we did and we learned.. sorry japan.... you bombed us first :P

anyhoo... we aren't bad people we just get a lil wild and the Texas in me makes me talk alota shit...

and Bush is a good president dammit... we elected him, we support him, and he IS OUR PRESIDENT!... dammit... respect the guy... I don't wanna hear anymore complaints about oh how he did this and that... omg bla bla bla... until you can PROOVE you can do a better job...

but yeah... I wasn't trying to make a dick of myself... I was just jumpin around causing ruckus while drunk on our holiday, having fun and just being dumb... and Alantai Firestar showed up, turned it all serious... took my joke for seriousness and is all downtalking the US by it....

blah... if that lil punk came over here I'd give him and beer and pull the corncob out of his ass for him... and if he seriously gave me any shit about anything.. I'd take the beer I gave him, and break the bottle on his head...

dude... its OK to have fun once and awhile... you don't have to be a serious chump all the time...

I don't supose you know that earlier that day (or the day before, ain't really sure), an USA ship sunk a japanese submarine!? I mean, before the attack on Pearl Harbor. The attack on Pearl Harbor was not «first-blood».

And that that big fleet USA had there, plus all those carriers on the way to there, were there in the first place because USA was already expecting war.

And i also supose that you are not taking in consideration that it was a military target instead of a city full of civilians and that there is a diference between conventional war and nukes that spread radiation!?

You would have done better to keep your mouth shut for the day!

when japan attacked us... it was full, all out kill everything in hawaii attack.. and we didn't know better about nukes... we just knew they were a gigantic bomb that would blow everything apart...

why do you think we were the first to go AGAINST nukes and their use when the cold war started?..

fuck... when I say I'm playing around take it as playing around...

argghh you dont udnerstand, you dont play around with thigns that run deep politically unless it's a parody. Never jokingly start somethign about america beign the best in an international forum or the eagles will start circling round you.
why do you think we were the first to go AGAINST nukes and their use when the cold war started?..
Brittish did ti first, then the american public followed suit.
and umm... Japan was allready a threat, and if you read up, there was backing to firing on 1 submarine...
Japan held most of the opposite coast of the pacific, thats a threat to american dominance. Besides japan was busy fending off the russians and eliminating what was left of the chinese.
Besides leaving a submarine to be destroyed like that for an excuse is not the way of the far east. Besides what where the americans doing blowing that submarine up anyways?

And you cant say ti was because germany was at war with the USA because the onyl reason germany declared war was because of americas war declaration against japan.

Besides the only reason the american government considered anti nuke treaties was to limit soviet superiority in the fact they had a larger stockpile than america, and to make it harder for other fledgling countries to develop nuclear weapons.

Paulo, I don't like the sound of it either (but because I know what it means).

It has come to my attention that most of the lists posted of things the US has done for the world are laced with some kind of humor. Those not of the US and not used to the culture didn't catch on (neither would most other US citizens, just they wouldn't take any offence at it for obvious reasons).

My suggestion is to just let this thread die now. No need for explanations needed, or continued flaming. The holiday is past now, and I assure you nothing good will come of continued posting in this thread.
