I think Pxtl meant 'Epic Scale'

Range compared to unit size is the "epicness", to see a battle you have to be zoomed out proportional to the ranges.

Yes, I meant weapon ranges. Can't wait to try it (as soon as I can find the time and get a game together) - although I worry about it effectively nerfing artillery, since the unit speeds were not correspondingly nerfed (that is, units can close into direct-fire range faster because their movement speed increased in proportion to firing range).

Id say its more proportional to map size.
Ive played some 'epic' macro-based games in the OTA mods, on maps that are too wide and open to focus on up-close combat. I was mostly using short-ranged units.
Its more about the size of the area you need to focus your attention on, and if you're fighting over a wide, open map, you need to be focused on all of it.
That mental switch that goes on when you start playing completely macro only happens on large maps, regardless of the mod (Though,
in proportion to the mod, as small units with small ranges and speeds essentially make the map larger).

I feel for you with the "can't play spring" thing, most of the time Spring completely breaks for me on this computer for some reason -black screens etc - and even when it does work CA etc tends to be pretty laggy!
I've always liked EE. I'd like to see new developments.
As far as my computer, it can run spring, but I cant play because at a random amount of time spring will cause my computer to freeze. This forces me to hard reboot and makes it generally impossible to play through a full game since I have no idea when my computer will freeze, it could be 5 minutes in, it could be 30.. it might not even happen, but the fact that it is very likely too makes me not inclined to try..
similar here, and everything else is perfect

Well I have crazy plans for EE.. most of which would involve radically altering the gameplay for the sake of crazy experimentation.. but alas all of this new development hinges on new computerness.. Also I should not have started playing WoW..

are you leaving? good for you.
fang, I think this thread shows that at the very least people are interested in EE. I think your project is generic enough and has been around long enough now that the community sees it as a very legitimate contender for players. I know your computer problems/shift in life priorities has changed but I feel the project has gained the respect that in my opinion it always deserved.
