the heightmap is misaligned in some places (the center crater) and the lua gadget has an error

No because then people join and start the game only to find their version of the map isnt the same and they crash out and everybody gets p*ssed off

"There is a new version available for map X. Would you like to download the new version?

what if there are multiple versions of the same map, and some people prefer V2 and some V3, and i want to be able to play with all of them?

not only that, it will be unclear whats the latest version, trademark please think before you suggest something, no wait ill make a guide for you
step 1: find something thats worth it to suggest or reply to something
step 2: dont just write, make sure to know what youre talking about
step 3: write
step 4: use the preview button
step 5: edit
step 6: click submit
step 7: if you forgot something edit or if you want it to be in a seperate post start from step 1

yeah i was thinking:
server tells us what is newest version of the map. therefore no probs.
mapmakers shouldnt make new version while older versions would still be played. if the new version sucks, dont release it!
i just dont like that people plays old versions of maps, even when new version is better :/
plus its ugly to have V462 suffixes in map names... i hate fixing my own maps just because: 1) everyone needs to redownload. 2) ugly V2 in it. 3) some people hosts old map, and then others says "I CANT FIND THAT MAP" and then they download it from some secret super place and later starts spreading the plague (old map) by themselves.
in my map folder i have like 10 versions of some single maps because they needed that much fixing :/
atm when i fix my map, i will just use the old name, and let people redownload it...
maybe we need better map format which has version number inside the file? just like its done for mods now.

Good stuff guys, love the way the skybox matches the map!
An all air map isn't my cup of tea (read porc to nux + krow + liche), but with this as an example, we could bring back many of the other nice cloud maps that feature land based combat.

Because with help of trepan, jK and aegis, trepans fog is working correctly as a gadget now. and it looks and preforms better. However it needs opengl 2.0. But with help of aegis the two gadgets are combined. If you don't have opengl2.0 it will "degrade" to the gadget user made (wich aegis optimized a bit futher).
However i couldn't upload to jj's site again for some reason.

I'm on an en7600GS, which is not an old card (not exactly a new one, but it should do opengl2.0 shaders

)
I had spring crash to desktop once while trying to load your map, but I haven't been able to repeat this crash; currently it just does not display any fog at all. V2 works fine.

Seriously... It took me over a year to get mappers to wise up and stop doing that crap, and here you suggest it as being a great idea.
Map versioning does NOT work like mod versioning. There is no tag for it. it is only the name. Also, the lobby thinks you already have the map and therefore won't download it again, and even if it did, the user would have to disconnect from the battle and reconnect to regain visible sync with the host.
