The only thing "wrong" with homosexuality is that it controverts the basic biological imperatives of reproduction.

The two are apples and oranges; you cannot declare that one must be legal because of the legality of the other.

One particular note about women and dogs/etc. The dog doesn't really know, or for that matter even care, to them it's mating, therefore, why is it considered wrong?

Well, in some cases beastiality could consist of animal cruelty; in other cases it could cause injury for either man or beast. I have read that many STDs originated in animals.
Personally, I think it's the "eew" factor.

BTW you are correct about the STD's, it is not unheard of for animals to have HIV/AIDS etc, however the virii are complacent in animals. (Most notably, dogs and monkeys/apes/gorillas/etc)

If a child, such as one that has just hit puberty, were to get pregnant there's also a much greater chance that there will be something wrong with the pregnancy or the child's child could have birth defects or be born dead. The child could, also, be unable to handle delivery and die during labor.

A few other factors that affect this situation are that if a child were to have relations like that with an adult, there's a good chance that the child could be seriously, even if it's unintentionally, injured and quite a few people who are considered to be going through a relatively normal development process don't hit puberty until the age of 18 (the 18 year olds who haven't developed earlier often times are people who for some reason or another have just inherited a tendency to take a little longer to physically mature).

In addition to this, most people are completely (body mass and all) mature until their 20's and this could affect reproductive processes as well such as in hip development in women so they will have enough room to carry the child during pregnancy and hormonal changes which occur.

I think I should better explain biological predispositions to personality traits. Personality traits are affected by multiple genes. Therefore, someone may inherit a tendency to act like a pedophile along with many other tendencies, such as another bad tendency, to not care for children or want them. This tendency along or other tendencies and societal norms that may shape a person's behavior may cause the trait of pedophilia to not show up in the person even if they were never trained to not be a pedophile.

That logic doesn't compute.

If you're talking about a more legal definition of what a pedophile is, someone who rapes a child (a prepubescent person), a pedophile is nearly if almost absolutely not able to be rehabilitated because they're already completely consumed by the tendency to be a pedophile. If you took someone who is by this definition a pedophile and chemically induced vomiting and methodically tortured them them every time they saw a child, they may still rape another child.

I hope that these explanations make things a little more clear. Just because a tendency which, has a very good chance of being negated especially when it's not very conducive to reaching the goal of procreating, is inherited, it doesn't make acting on that tendency right.

Finally, if you're wondering how I know all of this stuff it's because I'm a Biology education major at college and I have something of an interest in genetics.

Saying that a pedophile may INHERIT the personality trait sounds laughable to me, you might aswell say that a person inherited genes that make him desire smokes and drinks and fantasize about gay dwarves

realistically this is still a unsolved question in psychology , and is a subject of a lot of debating
