well considering what a pretentious wanker that bloke was, you pretty were pretty constrained in the circumstances!
If those fellow southerners of mine didnt go around using such foul language, completely unprovoked, just because you're a filth... you're a northener, then they wouldnt have anything to compain about in the first place!

We got London and a better life expectancy!

True... but there's still some areas that have accents so thick it's tough to understand. Nobody wants to say it for fear of sounding racist, but the urban African-American dialect can be difficult for white folk to understand, depending on the city and how thick the dialect is. (We're not talking hip-hop lingo here, but the accent itself...) Then there's Appalachian hillbillies, rural Southerners, etc. - the ones that talk fast and unintelligibly. For a long time there was a running joke about schools in Brooklyn teaching English as a Second Language for people who wanted to leave the area as well.

Stop whinning about people generalizing scottish irish and the english accent.There are far worse generalizations and stereotypes around the world.
Being insulted by people saying you probably have an english accent even if your from scotland is retarded and pathetic.
Get over yourself,the UK is not the center of the world .

I have no idea what you people are saying.
I'm still looking for a subtitled version of Trainspotting, any help would be appreciated (it's actually subtitled during some club scenes where you can't hear them speaking, if only it were for the whole movie).

@BaNa: I'm not Arthur Dent.
@CarRepairer: Doesn't the DVD have an option for English subtitles?
