For everyone who is interested, please read the update to the first thread. We need you guys to record a few samples of the dialog scripts that we've provided, and send them to starwarsspring@gmail.com (or post them here as Ishach has done) so that we can work out who is best at doing what.

Sinbad has already sent us some good ones (though I think you're going to need to get access to a better mike for the ones we intend to use in-game).

And for the record, "LAAT" can be pronounced phonetically, as in "laaht', instead of "el-double-ay-tee" or "el-ay-ay-tee".

Yeah. Definitely need to use a better mic... I basically just used the one built into my web-cam.

I can probably help out once I'm home alone. I got a good Shure mic which I use for singing and got plenty of voice editing tools. I can produce almost any effect in proffesional sound quality. I'll send in some demos when I have time.

Excellent :)

Still waiting on demos from everyone who piped up on the first page! ;)

Nice texturing, also are these going to include their duo missiles?

Thank you :)

In answer to your question, no it won't have the dual missiles, simply the two chin lasers, and the ball beam lasers.

For further artistic discussion, see the Star Wars Spring Art thread here.

Still waiting on samples from:

- Felix
- Neddy (who has spoken to me about this)
- Otherside
- Clumsy Culbane
- TheBigPK
- REVENGE
- Sir-Taco
- ianmac

If you guys are making some samples, feel free to try your hand at some of the other star wars species that make an appearance in SWS, such as Bothans, Mon Calamari, Twi'Lek and Wookies.
If that all seems a bit much, just stick with the american/british human voice acks listed in the first post of this thread :)

Yeah, guys, I'd love to get samples from both of you guys.

If you're british, record the fighter tank acks as a demo, and email them to us so that we can work out what units you'd be most appropriate voicing.

Yes! i have returned, and somehow have ended up on a music tech degree, so i have access to loads of equipment, as well as my own stuff.

ive sort of been practising to be a Death Metal vocalist recently, so i could have a go at doing alien voices. I could also have a go at some of the british ones.

Ill try and get some demos done.

Ugh, I must find time when dormmates are away so I can talk in silly voices to a mic. Otherwise...

Bah, that isn't a problem, I have a worse problem. I live in my parent's house, with my parents and brother.

I intend to scream commands for the lower techs...

And curse like hell, too...

If I find some time, which I probably won't. I'm going to maybe check out a track recorder at school with a mic and run through the lines a couple times with a friend. So, heads up that something might be coming.

I have gained access to a better microphone, would you like additional samples?

Any time frame on when we will hear what you need from us?

Got those samples Neddy, thanks.

Sinbad, you'll likely hear from us soon; the problem is that we can't give out too many tasks until we have a clear knowledge of how many people we have involved, as we don't want to double up on tasks, and we also want to ensure a clear distribution of vocals so that we have variation in the right places.

Currently we have a couple of people who are showing signs they'll be great for the Rebel side, but we need people who can voice the Imperial side. ianmac did a nice aristocratic british tank driver, and we need more of them; and his laat was quite good too but we also need some clipped militaristic vocies in an american accent for the stormtroopers.
