Spring RTS Engine

Samson is useful. People have been saying that even with a "counter unit" that the samson is OP. So lets look at what can "counter" the samson shall we? Flash/gator is possibly the best, the most common spammed vehicle... this is not some weird/never-built unit people!!! Stumpy/raider's do very well against samson as well, so they work well as a counter too. Heck, given the samson's crappy DPS and average move-rate, most things that are faster (and many that aren't) can eat them for breakfast.

So, build units. Pretty much anything. Theres your samson counter. In fact, it would be a much shorter list if I showed units that did NOT counter the samson. Jeffy/Weasel, eraser, etc.

Now at least, if you just spam llts with your nice little aggressive com, there is a cheap counter. A few samsons. Yay. Now the comm will need unit support. Go figure.

Before this version, in almost every single 1v1 (of the good players), nobody built any samsons. Since the new revision, i've seen a few ppl who make some(Most still don't build them). Now, IMO, they have a viable use.

I could go on, but I won't. Anyhow, the next complainer...Please come play Sleksa/Day/Andy/Myself/etc, and abuse samsons. Please. If you win, i'll vote that their OP. OKies?

i'll restate; i fully appreciate anyone donating their valuable time to work on a mod. BA at this point probably has untold amounts of hours of work put into it. I thank you for it. its better than alot of games i've paid $ for. i was just offering an opinion.

Age of Mythology has double headed dung beetles (or whatever). i have no idea what a unit like that is supposed to do in AoM, short of reading the manual. however, TA IS REALITY BASED. tanks are tanks, and kbots are infantry. kbots have a tendency to climb steep hills, hhmm... like the infantry. tanks have treads, armour, and have a big gun on a turrent, hhhhmm... like the M1 abrams.

we can all discuss with civility missle trucks and game mechanics, but when someone (oh i dont know, like Sleksa) uses the word "you" and throws around insults, it makes it personal. which i dont want, because i dont make assumptions about people i've never met (unlike Sleksa, keeper of the "/flame").

I have 100% confidence in the best spring player making the balance for the game. And tbh i'd always rather see a team of good players making the balance rather than someone with a calculator.

Re: the Samson

A unit can be overpowered without being the best straigh-out combat unit in the game. Just because flashes and stumpies beat the Samson in a straight fight doesn't mean that the Samson isn't overpowered. Flashes don't outrange most L1 defenses, and can't kill aircraft.
