What about full screen? There is a reason (I think) 99% of commercial games are always full screen...

Full screen allows you to render, at least in theory, only the elements of the program, rather than an interface behind it.

The amount of time I'm able to devote to this project is rapidly deminishing. (Dumb RL) A half-featured alpha release will find it's way to the linux forum somtime tonight.
