hoi, it was a more polite way of saying his models lack geometric interest and could use more detail.

What I said was just an addition to what you said, I don't mean to troll or something

@smothtank: i like it, except for 1 little thing: the wing things on the turret would look much better if scaled 3x, and if the unit was made an aircraft and renamed "the smothmobile"
... or if the turret separated from the body and flew off on its own...
looks like you stuck a fighter jet onto a tank chassis and added a gigantic cannon =P

you're right, I don't
care to elaborate? Or do I have o watch a half-dozen episodes of Gundam to understand?
Random trivia: I've only watched 1 episode of gundam that I still remember, something about a "cell virus" O_o

That's exactly what the Magella does in the original series.

this is a tank, I am putting about 1k polies into it.

Sorry... that is like 3-5 kinds of awesome... but... does it fly? like boost jump or something? it looks like it should fly.

the turret can pop off and become a separate vtol that uses the main tank gun and flies around.

Now, spring is slow because of engine faggotry. You could easily use 1000 polygons and 512x512s on just about every unit and the lag wouldn't be increased that much, unless you have a system way below the norm. Extra objects/more UNITS will make the game lag a lot, not necessarily the quality of the units. Still, don't use more polygons than necessary.

If anything is lagging spring, its the UI overlays, Minimap, groundscars, and particles, not the geometry.
Pressing F5 to turn off the UI overlay and minimap makes my fps go from 100 to 180, and in a long game full of units and events happening, an average of 40 fps goes up to 80-90 if the UI (f5) is turned off.
I can gain an additional 20-40 fps just by having the Player info menu turned off (/info).

OH! No, I've seen a DUCK before, (c'mon, I live within 3 hours of Baltimore, how could I not have?) , I thought that DUK was an acronym for something.

because Spiked never misspells anything

You're misspelling it

It's DUKW, production designation by its manufacturer/designer, GMC.
