He isn't. I had a "go sit in the corner dumbass" macro sitting ready to fire but I was holding back, you know, trying to be a bit kinder, gentler...
because someone else may read it and go hey, I can do this and solve bucher's problems! and ba gets a person to do installers!
momfreeek wrote:I mean.. if you just read it and got annoyed and couldn't help yourself and now you regret even being in his thread then fine.. mistake.. but are you saying you think you did the best thing..?
Hardly, I don't regret it at all, If he was actually willing to post back and forth, get the right info and do something I would have gladly helped him. Instead he pissed me off and I vented back at him. I would be more than happy to see someone come in and be useful. I know people believe we are all unique and special but I have seen many of his type over this past decade + of modding that I have done.
like I said earlier, I fully believe he is frustrated and venting. Maybe after he calms down and comes back he will be better. Hand holding in the past has done little for his type. I am always trying to do something different when what I have tried in the past was ineffective. TOO MANY people have I coddled to see them just leave like a fart in the wind

Thread summary so far:
- A consensus was met that lots of empty autohosts is bad
- A consensus was met that 1 super uber popular autohost was even worse
- It was proposed that autohost owners make it impossible for 9000v9000 games, and should limit the autohost max players so the largest game spossible were ~5v5 or 8v8
- Autohost owners objected to the suggestion. It appears they ahve already tried it only to see players shift to rival autohosts
- A consensus was made to adjust max specs from 20 to <10
- The above was implemented on 2 autohosts.
- Some new people came along and started saying things that offended some people, some trolls jumped in, some people made blanket statements condemning 'this sort of thread' and making generally MTR style posts
- knorke announced the frivilous bit of the thread was over, then AF posted a summary and we all got back to doing more productive things

Well at least I understand your attitude smoth. I don't think you do yourself any favours treating anyone like that. You can ignore the guy or add him to the "bloodthirsty hordes" baying for your blood.

I don't think he will bay for my blood. I suspect he will go to bed wake up and not be as pissy tomorrow.

And on that nice summary, the thread ends.
ouuuch.
Through the combined power of the Spring community:
The
old record of 12 pages in 61 days was
vaporized!
The new record stands as:
16 pages in just 33 days.
That is 4 extra pages, in half the time.
Good work everybody, I hope to see all of you back in a few weeks* for an even longer, better thread!
*this is the critical part.
