i'll try a fresh install i used the updater i don't see how that would've affected it but its worth a try right.

I tryed to install Spring with WD on my laptop to see if you integrated my sounds and if so how it sounds.
It freezes when I build the Baracks.
Don't know if I do something wrong..?

Seems to be a problem with the latest Spring, since FLOZi is getting it with his mod as well...

It's an odd problem, I made my commander able to build the tank depot,and that works fine, tho if i made a Bren gunner buildable from the tank depot it freezes too (I had been toying with the bren and thought it might be the root of the issue). However i removed the bren gunner from the barracks and it still freezes...
What bits of a unit does Spring load when it's factory is produced? I know it looks at the movedata but I'm not sure what else.

I guess it has to do with the footprint or something.
what I don't understand is...I don't have the friggin' problem! maybe I should release the latest and see if it still crashes...
I didn't change anything...AFAIK.

I Played a long game with my friend last night and we had no problems with the baracks, its wierd we actually though we would get the problem and wanted to test it out before bed, turned out we played a 2 hour game.

The crash (in TACW anyway) is caused by units having incongruent weapons i.e. weapon1 and weapon3 without a weapon2. Easy to fix, tho an annoyance to have to go through each unit that does it.

I guess that explains it, i've been fixing that bug since it caused units to crash spring when firing.

Just to let you know I am planning to release the latest WD build this week.
Hopefully Zaphod will have his AI fixed by the time I release, or before rather so I can make an AI profile.

How do you set up Spring/WD to play single player GZ?
I have found some way to play it with the lobby in a password protected game but it's not ideal.
I just like to see how my infrantry sounds sound like ingame.

you could use the LAN server.
G_Z, did Maestro get anywhere with adding roadwheels to the tanks?
Here's a video of an Abbot 105mm SPG from TACW with tracks that Spiked made for it. I think it looks pretty cool, even without proper textures.

It's hard to communicate with Maestro since he stays away from instant messengers, only occasionally posts on message boards and rarely emails.
wow, that looks awesome flozi! how do those wheels work? do they follow the terrain or is that an illusion?

An illusion, the tracks are static and the wheels spin, of course the unit follows the terrain anyway, so it looks like the tracks do (to an extent).

I can only use a few sounds since Spring doesn't support as much responses as OTA yet.
I'll think about it, but it shouldn't be hard to implement for you though, just change the gamedata/sound.tdf file, there should be an enry called American or something, just change the sounds for ok1 and such and you'll be set.
