Wait a sec... you posted that? GTFO dick.
Edit: Argh, or anyone else... Are there any other maps of mine that you would like to see ported over (and of course, retextured

)?
No noruas posted it, and I made a typo, I thought we all knew by now who the youtube xtaBoi account belongs to? Or that my own youtube account is AFDEV? Please dont jump to conclusions.

Sorry to report that the new walls and stuff did NOT make it into the build. Simply ran out of enough time to give them the polish they deserved and decided to leave them on the cutting-room floor until they're done right, rather than mar the RC with something shoddy.
Same with the new "voice-acting". I'll get to that asap, but it won't be in RC3- there just wasn't enough time in a 12-hour stretch to make everything possible, and I think that my priorities were right. Hope that I can make that a simple "patch" release later on... I'd like to quit making people download huge files every time, frankly, but it needed to reach a certain level of quality first.
Thank you, every one of you folks who has helped this get to this point- from cool new maps to video to a front-end and installer that don't suck, this has been pretty much the most amazing transformation I've ever been a part of. It's still not quite up to professional standards, but what the hell, it's close enough for now. Should prove a decent surprise to the magazine guys, if they've bothered really looking at RC1 / RC2.
Anyhow... more news when it's officially available, which will be a couple of hours at least. I'm committed now, so I hope that this build is entirely OK... had to make a last-second fix to my new Tooltips display, and one never knows. I've tested it, of course, but I'm getting tired and rather flaky, and I've had a lot on my mind.
So will Applauncher be included?

Yes, absolutely.
Mirror from koshi (may work better on slow connections):

High-speed link from me.

No Linux build yet, still uploading. Sorry, I fell asleep around 4AM, waiting for the main upload to finish. Now I need to go post on ModDB, etc.
[EDIT]Yay, the magazine guys in Portugal, whose deadline was today, got my email from before I fell asleep, and are going to use RC3 for their DVD release. Whew, glad I warned them. The German magazine's deadline was the 26th, so it should be just fine. Awesome, this is soooo cool.[/EDIT]

Ok, the ModDB article's up (that's gotta be a bloody record- my upload was barely even up, before it was approved, and the article was barely posted before it hit the front page).
Linux users, please be patient. RC3 is uploading now, but it'll be about an hour and a half until it's finished. I will be updating the links, and the ModDB article, etc. at that time.
Oh, yeah... and there are new Unit Guides up. They're a bit crude- I just ripped out Help-O-Matic images and posted them- but what the heck, it's a start in the right direction on that:

Linux Build is finally available. Sorry about the long wait.
FAST CONNECTIONS ONLY:

And I'll be posting on ModDB asap, of course.

I've already talked to my ISP about this, there's nothing that I can do, short of paying for a dedicated server, which I cannot afford.
At any rate, it should be available on ModDB soon, using their various mirrors that can handle slower download speeds.

Hmm, well, should be fine then.
Still wondering, how do you make sure that everyone will get the patch?

I'll post it here and on ModDB. Can't really do anything else, it's just how it's going to have to be. I really wish that 0.77 reached release before I was forced to put this out, but that can't be helped and I'll just have to ride it out, and hope I don't annoy too many people in the process...
Oh, and I'll be online for a bit today, hope to see some players online, now that that's all working correctly, at least on my end.
Satirik has done an awesome job supporting this release, if using the front-end, players go right to the Test Server, and get logged into the #pure channel, etc. He and koshi both got special thank-yous in the Credits, etc., for their awesome support during this crazy week. Koshi got the bugs worked out of the SpringSettings initial settings, so that Vista users will see their cursors, and optimized the sound settings, etc., etc.- this is waaaaaaay more professional feeling than RC2, and I'm very glad to have gotten so much help at this critical time.
Also (sorry people, there's a lot going on, I keep losing track)... I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but I've pretty much lost count of how many places we're getting mirrored. BluesNews, Gamershell, lots of little game-sites around the world. No, we're not getting on GameSpy and the other big English-language sites, but meh... I'll see if I can get them interested. Probably won't happen, but what the heck.
So... what does everybody think that I should do, to promote the Spring engine in general, and indie games in particular? I want to do something more than just toot my own horn here, while the getting is good. Does anybody have any constructive ideas? I don't really like playing media games, but we really should take full advantage of this, imo, we may not get another chance like this.

maybe the topic in #pure could be something like patch is here... you'd be able to play against alot of more people, and get a bot out or something to tell everyone on the test about the patch in a pm...

Yeah, that may be effective, at least in terms of getting people to get the patches or whatever.

Observation - turning off helpomatic makes tooltips dysfunctional. Small thing, but important for people with less screen real estate than 1280x1024.

Or use a program which can resume download (e.g. wget).

Yeah... that sounds like work. Seriously, it's just a scrollable flowpanel full of imagebuttons. There's no ninjitsu there. The only hard part was some of the scrollability stuff, and Argh isn't even using that.
Oh, and there's a bit of a bug in the launcher - it complains noisily if run more than once, which will easily happen if a player doesn't realize he's already got it open (but hidden) in the background. I'll fix that in the next release.
It's not a game-breaker to stop the release, but it's annoying. I assume there'll be an RC4 to fix it for.

Whoops. Sorry, that was a bug no doubt caused by my Tooltips replacement... I'll see about fixing that for the next release. I
knew I hadn't tested that enough... had one lame bug I caught only at the 11th hour (literally), I'm not surprised it borks in other ways.

Just thought I'd mention I'm up for a couple of hours in the <gasp> Lobby, to see if we can get a few games going.
Imbaczek, can ye send me your comments via PM? I lost most of them, sorry.

I am happy to announce that my theories and points have all been proven correct, ironically by their greatest opponent. I really wish people would actually read what I say properly instead of jumping to conclusions like you have argh, but suffice to say you've actually followed what I said everyone should followed more ro less and look at you now.
Congratulations Argh and may your run of good luck continue. heres a cookie!
