This is a community, stop fighting, and have some fun. There's nothing to argue over, make what you want people can say whatever they want, but don't flame them back if you think they've flamed you. Try to talk it over instead via PM feature, or better yet, just ignore it, take it out on your next opponent ingame. :D

But not how they look in general. Also the analogy fails utterly on an internet forum where you are free to both present yourself in the way you choose, to respond or not to respond to inflammatory posts, and to leave if you don't like what is going on. There's little point in a moderator system if it allows the community to turn into a simmering bomb about to explode. Its like preventing war by driving behind a tank and repairing any buildings it destroys.

Sadly this is a blocking issue, nobody is willing to set up a fair discussion, and comments intended to derail or mess up the process in the name of lulz are allowed.

Most importantly discussion of moderation here is futile. Moderation won't change because of it. Those who try to speak out seriously are undermined and ridiculed and painted out as weak, and the moderators act ignorant for the most part, re-emphasising their existing position regardless of any attempt to point out flaws, or not addressing the issue at all.

The lesson of the day:

People who have or want to speak out about moderation, don't bother, you're setting yourself up to get burnt and squished.

It's really hard to respond to that without reinforcing your existing views but I don't see any "squishing" being done of people who criticise the moderators here.

I'll say this, Sleska has a right to defend himself, he's not "trolling" like he did last week, all of you should really be ashamed. I vote the thread gets locked before AF, smoth, Fang, or Sleska leave.

I'm justified. Sleksa isn't trolling in that example and fang isn't an innocent victim. Your entire model is based on flawed premise, that someone is always right and someone is always wrong.

Seriously. I want proof that sleksa's character is in question. When has he ever had ill intentions against this community, when has he ever been more than a class clown? Is it against our rules to be too the point and not really argue in a discussion but rather spout rhetoric? Sleksa does things that annoy me, but alot of people do too, and frankly, I don't think annoying people should be a bannable offense. We're not going to all be AF clones, stop looking for scape goats FFS.

I've grown tired of this discussion, and the fact that moderators participate in it is now not enough to dissuade me from closing it for this reason;

General abuse of rhetoric and argumentation by many posters in the thread which amount to numerous borderline offenses against policy. Felony 1, Felony 2, Felony 4, Misdemeanor 3, Misdemeanor 4. General offenses against reasoned argumentation and reasonable standards of discussion.

In short, this thread is a morass of ill-conducted and derivative combat between people in text, and little more. ENOUGH.
