Imo most topics there are ontopic but this has nothing to do with "sound effects, game music, and the creation thereof.", it is stuff that isnt directly related to Spring
blabla, who cares.

Yello - Oh yeah

Techno with funny voice OH YEAH

also, lol a song about computers from the year 1968

just wondering, as this was the time of flying to the moon and stuff it is maybe the first time ever the word computer was used in a song?

So that means that we need to move more offtopic threads into the Spring-related subforums?

This is crossrepost, but I had to relisten to all those songs tonight so it's relevant. See if you can spot the two Spring video before checking them all. Oh, and not only you don't have to, but you should not watch the videos, just listen the music. Some images have the potential to ruin the sound.

My favourite songs were, in the chronological order I prefered them:

But because I feel like making an extra long post, I'll detail which songs are my favorites for the bands that are my favorites:

There were songs I liked back when I listened to radio, such as Liquido - Narcotic, Shelby - 1+1, Archive - You make me feel,...

Not sure they're ska-rock or just mainstream pop, but I listened to Superbus, but then they started being successful so I couldn't like them anymore. And also No Doubt, of which the song I like most although it's unlike the rest is No Doubt - Dark Blue, just like Mylène Farmer - L'instant X (I mean, the fact that I like most of their songs but prefer the one that is unlike the rest). But then my mommy told me she has no voice, and anyway, just like I don't like old Britney Spears or Bon Jovi but Max Martin, I don't really like Mylène Farmer or Nathalie Cardone (or..) but Laurent Boutonnat. Anyway, from that era I also liked:
Atomic Kitten - Right Now
Mandy Moore - Saturate me (but much less anything else by her)
Sheryl Crow - Safe and sound
Hole - Northern star

Did I mention I like Garbage music? That makes me remember I like The Cardigans, but only the gran turismo album and not any other of their albums. I used to confuse them with The Cranberries just because name start with roughly the same letters, lol.
Garbage - Stupid Girl
The Cardigans - Explode
The Cranberries - Promises
Texas - Black Eyed Boy

Anyway then I pretty much switched to Power Metal:
Stratovarius - Hunting High And Low
Kamelot - The Fourth Legacy Like I said earlier, although I like all of Kamelot, somehow the quieter songs sticks to me more.
Gamma Ray - Changes
Blind Guardian - Skalds and Shadows
Demons & Wizard - White Room
Norther - Mirror of Madness
Twilightning - At The Forge
Sabaton - Metal Cr├╝e
Hammerfall - Rebel inside Simple and cheesy, but catchy. With Saxon, Hammerfall is the concert I liked most, but unlike Saxon, I also enjoy the records for Hammerfall.
Edguy - The Pharaoh This could have been a favorite of mine too, if I had noticed it before hearing it live. I mean, not that live wasn't good, quite the contrary. Make sure to listen it whole though.

Or, for the morning, waking up to the softer genre of Gothic Metal with boobs:
Liv Kristine - Trapped In Your Labyrinth (as well as Leave's Eyes)
Within temptation - Memories
Delain - Shattered
Eyes of Eden - Winter Night (I wish I could have found Not Humand Kind, but appears I'm nearing the limits of google-owned youtube.)

And for the evening, falling asleep with more technoish things:
Dune - Million Miles Away
Alice Deejay - Fairytales
Tatu - Friend or foe
Bl├╝mchen - Ich Bin Wieder Hier (Maybe the only one of all those links of which I like the video that always come with music when listening to youtube.)

But overall mostly metal and similar:
Therion - Lemuria
Winter Sun - Beyond the Dark Sun
Apocalyptica - Path
The Eternal - Down
Blackmore's Night - Shadow Of The Moon
Moonspell - Raven Claws
Blasphème - Vivre libre
Nanowar - Tricycles of Steel (With an N)
New Model Army - Vengeance (More rock than metal)
Bloodflowerz - The last dance (Not sure which one of them I like best, but the other vids had laughably sterotypical outfits.)
MyPollux - Paraffine (Not as ugly as those, though. Damn the looks ruins the sound.)

Had some point, I was in an aread with a pretty rare non-commerical radio (Sol FM), from where I picked up:
Turbonegro - Wasted Again
The Metric - Succexy
Nouvelle Vague - Ever Fallen In Love
Two Gallants - Las Cruces Jail (Rest of album is not as good)
Le Maximum Kouette - Va T'Faire (most known song of them, but again I love the quietest one Le Maximum Kouette - Karen most).

Then I discovered about Electro-Indus, and pretty much got split between Power Metal and Electro-Indus (or whatever you can call what goth listen to) :
L'Âme Immortelle - Betrayal (pretty much the song, and the band, that got me into the genre)
Front Line Assembly - Social Enemy
The Covenant - Dead Stars (not to be confused with The Kovenant, which I like too.)
Apoptygma Berzerk - Tuning In To The Freqency Of Your Soul
Ayria - Horrible Dream
Die Krupps - Germaniac
Punish Yourself - Gun
The Cruxshadows - Winterborn
In Strict Confidence - Promised Land
Emilie Autumn - I Want My Innocence Back
Dope Stars Inc. - Play'n'Kill

But I can also enjoy classical french hits such as:
Jean Jacques Goldman - La vie par procuration
Emile et Image cover of: Gold - Capitaine abandonn├®
Corynne Charby - Boule de Flipper
Julie Pietri - Eve lève-toi
Indochine - L'aventurier

My other favorites songs I couldn't fit elsewhere are:
Mike Oldfield - Innocent
Bijou - Le Kid
Nada Surf - Popular
Alphaville - Sounds like a Melody
Paragon X9 - Chaoz Airflow
Emma Pollock - Acid Test

Conclusion: It's amazing how there's only two songs I couldn't find on youtube (Not counting crappy lives). Oh, and half of my music taste is actually due to luckz.

Every new year, they throw this overlong metal party at the Loco where they bring out old but good retired french metal bands. In 2008, the star turn was for Blasphème returning after I don't even know how many years. Having the whole crowd singing along "Vivre Libre" was so much more moving than any youtube vid could ever convey.
