I don't want to be an ass... but I don't have flash installed and don't want to install it. Any chance for me to view this video without being an adobe's slave ? :-)

I've been having illness after illness for about three months, I'm sorry, Argh. I simply couldn't produce the voice clips.

Thx for the link Argh =)

Great great, I liked it :)

Music sounds goods, camera movements were nice and sweet battle :)
But, all Spring video I've seen were about battle, boum effects and units firing. I'd like to see gameplay video, with UI and construction process, units preparing for the battle, with something like this : "oh, my outpost has detected air enemy units coming. I'm gonna build great anti air defense quickly, and you'll see the enemy units be destroyed !"
It's pretty stupid but It's pretty amazing when it's nicely done :)
When a guy which never heard anything about Spring watch video like this, he is wondering how the game is played, so it could be great to add gameplay movies with UI :)

Anyway, I didn't follow you during the PURE developpement because I'm pretty new in spring community, but it's great job :]

Meh, I know Neddie, it's fine.

I'm just griping, I had to record new voices for the characters with a digital camera making "films" last night, because I don't have a microphone and it was the only way to record any voices. My logistical situation sucks, basically- I'm totally not equipped to do pro-quality vocal stuff, nor is my voice exactly Hollywood, and I don't have the equipment to do it right. It'll just have to do.

I'm finishing a box-art right now, so that it'll be done before work begins in Europe for the Germans and that guy in Portugal, and since I haven't heard from Pxtl yet, I'll go ahead and integrate his front-end into the beast and see what can be done (note, Pxtl, if you have time and get me a way to do a prettier front end by tomorrow afternoon or so, I can still use it).

Yay, packshot is done:

Now I just have to go finish dealing with the voice-overs, and then I'm going to get some sleep. By tomorrow night, I have to finish up RC3, so it's going to become a rather-grim race against time :P

Heck, none of the people who volunteered to give me voices for units even did anything, even after I wrote up a complete script for them. We're basically just going to have to do what we can- it's not an ideal world, it's just what we can do.
I mean people who speak english as their first language.

Er, well... even then, it's not that easy. People with good, non-lame-sounding speaking voices who read well and have good skills aren't easily found, unfortunately.

Some guy posted on ModDB that he was doing something like this... maybe I should advertise there, find people who do it regularly enough that they'd be good at it. It's not like we need giant amounts of people's time- a "take" for a typical unit's acks would be about 30 seconds or so... so it's not like some RPG project or whatever, it'd be pretty trivial for somebody with the right skills. I'll see about that... later.

[EDIT]

What is broken, balance-wise, with RC2? Anybody have some final thoughts on that? I can't fix every last finicky thing, I won't have time tomorrow night, but I'd like to fix any major issues.

For example, did I nerf the Heavy Mech enough, or no?

I hate to put it this way, but that wasn't terribly funny, or constructive. Do you have something useful to say about the gameplay or balance?

Sigh. Please, don't post here, if all you can do is play with that link, instead of doing something constructive.

Private messages sent to you usually just mean you dissmiss things as insignificant or deny they're actually there if you don't like them.

Since flouting what i said in ym original blog post is quite widespread and not just in this video I posted publicly. This also has the added benefit that it forces you to respond (oddly enough only you most people wouldn't be bothered).

Either way P.U.R.E is going to be parodied at some point and attempts to control it wont work.
