[WG]Autohost seemed to desync every BA game (not sure why and not sure if this is still true).

If it still happens after full spring reinstall, I would suspect some spring bug related to that exotic CPU.

Anyway, people should realize that autohost = exactly like normal host.

Only difference is, that spring runs minimized and on higher priority, therefore you have lower pings and lower lag.

Autohost itself does not interfere with spring process in any way, so desync ratio is same as in player hosted game.
However, autohost usually host larger games, where desyncs tend to be more common because of increased number of players.

played two games at the [WG] ee autohost and both desynced.
The first when the game was already won anyway and the 2nd midgame.
But i think its more a problem with ee then with the host :?

Yeah EE always seems to desync, nobody knows why...if the game stays synced for the first 5 seconds or so, it's not the autohost.

when i remember auto hosts appeared (hosted by DRinferno host names T1_auto host i think) there were no desync at all (almost)
fact that >50% of games hosted desync is quite strange, it should indeed not cause any problem that theres no human behind the pc

what can be source of troubles is administrating them
i don't know how is administrating done on WG's or springies' but it should be able to be self administrated

anyway, ppl should not start beleiving auto hosts are evil because it can be of much assistance providing games for everyone without having to find someone with a good connection to host
if WG's hosts aren't reliable, they should fix the problem of not host ...
and of course to fix the problem they need to be aware of the problem, having read the !help it is not clear who to pm .. and theres not a [WG] connected all the time :)

autoservers are terrible. How many times have you joined some 5v5 on an autoserver and some guy can't connect, but you can't force the game and people won't vote. I hate that.

And how is that fault of autoservers? :-)
Do you realize that it even starts automatically after certain timeout?

Jack, get rights on the server and you can force or even voteforce. Licho made very good software, really, incorporated all of the feedback we gave him.
