It's a little different from the modder's point of view, trust me

To Balance Physic based Units - like bombers - you need to use HitPossibilitys in the Calculation. Poor Moders, they must hate Bombers...

So the AI per an individual sucks. It's no good, because then the game becomes a clicking race, and that's tedious and means a person with a bot on his side will probably win.
I don't see spring as striving to be the best rts out there, I think it has already attained that position.

Bad Idea - look at all those Games out there thinking they are the best (SC) - Beeing the Best means Stagnation...

We hate the bombers because some times they fly in circles if they pass onto a hill, they bomb each other, they fly low to the ground to bomb, they drop two or more bombs based on fire rate etc not count, the bombs fall too slow... it goes on and on. They are really really cumbersome.

The problem with bombers is lack of AI control on the modder's side more then lack of specific hit control. Actually it's a general problem for aircraft, it's just most noticeable with bombers because you can do virtually nothing with them unless it fits into an extremely narrow template.

Why is everyone so down on Sup-Com. Sure Spring is better and freer...and in some cases, even looks nicer...and has better, faster feedback (As in I can litterally hop on Team talk and say: "Hey Fang, EE Roxxors! And he'd say "Thrust Vectoring owns the Skies!")
And lots of the fetures from Sup Com are already in Spring. And There are more mods. And better mods. And Spring's already out. And we're getting close to a campain. Oh and the fact that Spring runs at 50FPS, while Supcom goes at 10...
I like Spring.
PS: Not every RTS game that looks like a surefire winner has been bad. What about Company of Heros. If that was bad, then good is dumb!

EE's surgical strike bombers are juuuuust right for taking out an enemies radar instilation, or hub, or factory. Or something else that needs' to die. EE's saturation bombers are great for blowing up everything in the general area. Very effective

I was talking about for modders... They don't have enough control over how a bomber behaves, it's a VERY restricting system on the mod side.

yep. Certain flight hights cause VERY idiotic behaviors. If you have a long attack run that is fine and good but terrain with hills can cause aircraft to fly in circles... which is beyond bizzare.

No, off topic thread is SPAAAARTA!
Okay, I'm done. But still, the Swedish Yankspankers deserve someone to cook them a cake. This one time, I had this really good teacher and he was feeling all down, so I baked a cake...and then, due to a bunch of reasons that have nothing whats so ever to with the cake, things got a lot better.
So I think someone who lives near teh Yankspankers needs to bake a big old chocolate cake.

I don't know. C&C 2 was pretty mediocre. Or at least I didn't like it.
But it does have Two Cylons, Lando Calrisian, Sergent Razcheck, Lock and Kain in the same game!

Very well. Any dev whom I encounter, I shall bake a cake for. Until such time, however, back to work or the monkey is executed.... ohshi- gave away too much there <_<

So long as we talk about Spring, Supreme Commander, or something that has to do with either (for example: a monkey unit in some mod) we cannot go off topic.
