The last thing I'd argue for is more moderation. The lobby is already kept pretty dang tame. We already had a moderator (FoeoftheBee) go on a power-trip and mute anyone who said any word stronger than "gol-durn" in #main... if moderators are granted more sweeping powers, you can only expect to see more of that sort of thing.

I take a relatively laissez-faire approach to moderating the lobby. In general, if it doesn't jump out at me, and it isn't serious for someone to bother reporting it, then I don't worry about it.

#main is considered a hell hole by most people I know on and out of the server.
